I still havent had any touches on EAD/AP, even after biometrics..should I be worried??

I wouldn't be. It looks like you got a bunch of touches on the I-485 so your case is definitely being looked at.

You did your walk in quite far ahead of the biometrics appointment they had originally scheduled for you, so they might just be holding off for a little bit before working on your application.

Thanks Ellie! I'm just hoping my biometrics all went through..since most people (I thought even if they did a walk it) got a touch very soon after. My I-485 got sent to CSC so I am not sure that getting touches on I-485 means they are doing anything at all with my other stuff....since its not in the same office anymore.

Laura, I noticed you walked in rather than waiting for your appointment. Is that common and allowed? Or do I have to wait the whole 2 weeks before I can do the biometrics?

I miss Nich's words too.. how dare she have a life! :P

I think it depends on your office. I asked someone else on VJ that had done a walk in at my local office, so maybe you should find someone with walk in experience and find out??

I have a quick question - I got a temp. job today, and on the tax forms I had to fill out my marital status, obviously we are married, but it said something about NOT checking married if the spouse is a non-resident alien...I was unsure of what to check? Can someone advise me??

I was wondering about that stuff too. Knight does include me on certain forms and stuff, but certain things only apply to residents of Alaska (which I'm not, not for a while).

And @ Laura, Knight had a chat with his work experience professor, and because she knows lots of management types in the field I want to work, she said she could probably set me up somewhere either out here in the Valley or in Anchorage! It would be amazing not to make that lengthy commute, especially once the winter hits hard. I'm going to send my resume along with him for tomorrow :D.

And yis, last I heard from Nich, she was juggling moving stuffs.

WAAAH! Everyone else is getting their EADs and APs except for us! The last touch we had was on John's I-485, on 9/24, the day after his biometrics. I know it's not officially "time" to worry yet, but we're getting impatient.

Edited to add... but congratulations to all you lucky ones, of course. No hard feelings. :)

Thank you. I'm back briefly but wireless connection is dodgy and my computer is in a box somewhere.

Tuesday 29-Sept--got bad belly ache in evening, but had one day to finish packing and didn't really have time to be sick.

Wed 30-Sept--went to Emergency room in pain worse than childbirth. Screamed alot (not my norm). CT scan indicates diverticulitis. Morphine with 2 Vicodins is not helping. Admitted to hospital. Taking 2 IV antibiotics and narcotics.

Thurs 1-Oct --Transferred to Houston medical center by ambulance for a colon specialist/surgeon. Yay, no surgery needed. Oh and I moved that day because movers were booked solid past deadline to be out of old house.

Sat 3-Oct --After nothing but a sponge lolly thingy to wet my tongue and lips since Wednesday, I finally get water and glorious broth!

Sun 4-Oct --Wow. Soft diet approved. Feeling better.

Monday 5-Oct -- Our first wedding anniversary!! (L) isn't how I imagined it, but I did get released from hospital to a new home filled with boxes...all my clothes still at old house. It was one of the worst days of my life, but hey...we'll try for better next year.

Tues/Wed/Thurs-- spending long hours at old house trying to finish emptying it. I'm still very ill and taking 2 Vicodin's every 4 hrs to try to cope. Nick is exhausted and psychotic at this point. But we know we love each other and will start acting like it soon. LOL. Old house is officially empty and garage is holding neatly stacked last load to pick up today. Friday is supposed to be the closing date of old house where I get the $$$$ and new people get the keys. If that doesn't happen, I guess I'll just have to kill someone in a narcotic induced rage.

Congratulations on those with new progress/approvals EADs, etc.

Nich! You really do know how to make things hard on yourself eh? Come on....couldn't you hold off being sick until you had moved your entire life??!!

Seriously....you poor thing. It's more than anyone needs to deal with as apparently moving is only slightly less stressful than divorce (we move in 6 weeks ourselves....and one may lead to another because Mr D is so disorganized)

I hope you feel better soon. I had never heard of diverticulitis, so I googled it...and it sounds bloody painful. We miss you, we hope Friday goes well because I am quite sure they dont let you access the internet in prison and good luck with all the other loose ends too!

Oh no Nich... I'm sorry you've been so ill. And during such a stressful time.

My mother suffered from diverticulitis and IBS. She also said that the pain was worse than childbirth, and would have to bite down on a towel while she went to the bathroom. She ended up taking Fibregel(?) everyday which supposedly helps symptoms, but that gave her dreadful diarrhea, so she zig-zagged between all symptoms sometimes. Sorry if that was TMI. :P I hope you find some relief very soon. And don't forget to celebrate your anniversary once you do, as it's something that should be celebrated.
