Guess what came in the mail today???? His Green Card!!! And it's sure pretty and shiny and gorgeous! We had great fun with a magnifying glass trying to read all the hologram stuff on the back.

This has got to be a record....from K1 to green card there were no glitches, no RFE's no problems at all. Just smooth sailing and everything went as expected. All that sick worry for nothing.

We mailed our AOS application on July 24th and got the card today. That's just over TWO months! Truly amazing.

Would someone mind updating the spreadsheet? Oh, and would you mind correcting the date for the approval....it was 9/29. Thanks!

Happy, happy, happy! And awfully glad to be done with this part.

ESTA is only for the VWP. Your travelling on an expired visa, with permission to leave pending an AOS application.

So no :)

Have fun at home, hope the back is feeling better.

I cant wait to get back to see everyone but will miss the hubby, back is finally starting to get better still at the docs twice a week. thanks for remembering

I will also make an appointment before I go to renew my passport I called and it is possible just have to give 2 weeks notice

Fingers crossed that we dont get an interview date while I am away which would be a nightmare but chances are slim as we have been trf to Cali

Haven't had time to think about it yet, but it means our finances don't look especially friendly. And the interview is 2 weeks today.

I'm genuinely worried about that, but at the same time trying to do the whole "don't worry, we'll be fine thing" with the good lady. I'm gutted for her, I really am. She was working her tits off at a place which paid $10 an hour, hating every day but never really complaining (much, anyway) so that the savings were stretched out further, and now this.

Anyway, sorry to bring the thread down.

Congrats to all who need them :D

Your not bringing a thing down, it is a major and legitimate worry.

I remember when David was made redundant just after we filed. His whole industry collapsed and we didn't know what we were going to do. It was a real blow, but he kept telling me it would all be alright. I needed to hear that and she does too.

Good luck, I hope you can find something. Keep your chin up for her....and come here to tell us how it really is.

I'm so so sorry, pothergavel.

I agree with Ellie, I think she might need to hear that everything will be OK, even when things look shaky and unsure. I know that when we were unemployed and filing the K1, I needed to hear the reassurance. And it will be OK - it will just take some time to get back on your feet again.

I really hope you find something soon.

Congrats on the approvals Moira, are you planning on going back to the UK for a visit?

I know I'm planning on it once I get my AP. I will miss my husband so much. Isn't it weird? We could do months apart before, but now 1-2 weeks away seems unbearable. It will be good to see my family and friends though.

Thanks Gemmie. We're planning on going over to Scotland next summer. My family wasn't able to take part in our small wedding, so we're hoping to have a belated celebration with them all on our 1st wedding anniversary.

I hope you have a fantastic trip ... I know that both Steve and I are looking forward to ours .... :D
