That's so wonderful, Hannah! Congrats! Eeeeeeeee!

Also, H&V, I can't imagine how volunteer work would count as employment. I considered it myself but other things have cropped up so I haven't gone into it. I personally wouldn't see anything wrong with including it on a resume, but then, the USCIS is funny about all sorts of things, sometimes. Anybody with information on this? I've also been pondering it.

Magpie.

USCIS must be busy lately indeed! We got emails concerning the approval of the EAD and AP on 9/10. We got the AP letters on 9/14 and the EAD card on 9/18.

Next he goes to get his drivers license. And now we get to hold our breath for the next step....will they send any RFE's for the AOS? I'm so freaking worried about that one.

Madly and wildly in love

Thanks guys!!  and good luck pothergravel for your October interview!

So now I have a couple questions! We leave for our Canada holiday on thursday! Woop woop! Do I need to take anything additional other than our marriage certificate, as passport is still inaiden name and greencard is inarried name. Also I have a temp ca driving licence or permit I'm not sure what u call it valid

till October.26th I think. I'm not ready to take the practical test yet but hopefully will be when we get back plus there's no time before we leave. Am I allowed to drive with this temp licence in other states and Canada? There will be other people with me in the car at all times I just wanna get some practice in and confidence back. It's been a long time . :s

It is pretty! I even signed up for the new mobile alerts that are now available on our cases!

It's about time they updated that website....it was awful.

You're right, it was pretty bad before. I haven't signed up for the text alerts as they don't seem to be too hot on updating anything - on our case at least. We've had no email alerts at all, and apparently my AOS application hasn't been touched since they received it on the 3rd. And yet we got the letter for interview yesterday! Besides, it leaves a little element of surprise when I go to collect the post each day ;)

Hey Hannah, thanks for the wishes. Hopefully it will be a-ok! Could be a lovely day in my favourite city in the world, all being well!

Have a great holiday :D Driving here in the US is easy, peasy. You'll be fine!

If i can get my head around the mechanics of the moving the car bit  its been ten years almost since i tried to drive so far i have had three goes at short stints in moving the car in a parking lot but the automatic is too big and the golf (hah supposed to be a compact car my #### its as hard to see around it as the impala) is stick. :( i'm just having trouble taking to moving the car its freaking me out after my woopsie in UK all those years ago. I just want to know if i can drive my father in laws car in other states on this license? its only a temp one?

You'll be fine. The cars might be bigger, but the roads are HUGE compared to England - it's all relative!

As far as I am aware, the temporary license works in exactly the same way as the permanent, but obviously on a shorter time basis. So mine, after I passed, is as good as the plastic card I just have to wait for the postman to deliver the real thing. It's not a learner's permit you have is it? I am sure that a full licence is recognised in all states.......

I'll google a bit and see what I can find.

Hannah, I know how you feel. Going from my little Volkswagen Polo to Knight's truck feels like going from a bicycle to a tank. I know you can drive in other states with a full license, but I don't know if you're allowed to do so on a temporary one. You might want to call your DMV and check...

well the golf gti ( yeh i know my husband is letting me drive it. you don't even wanna know whats in my mother in laws impala and she let me move that too  ) is only from 2005 i think or so its not that old but for a compact car it dont feel so compact  it just don't feel right, cars are getting waaaayy tooo big. its like the new mini!! THERE'S NOTHING MINI ABOUT IT!

Anyway i think i found something, though its not official source or anything but its a start.
