Yay Daymo hope to go see mummy November time just got to look at the gigs going on in london to time it just right hahahah dtill cant sit so wont book till the back is better, got a mail saying my EAD has been sent which is great news so will see if I can get on a tour

Thanks Kat and Magpie

but most importantly Nich do I get the marmite lol

Hey Hey I wanna be a rock star..... You crazy Monkey. Went to a concert Saturday... Papa Roach, Hinder, Nickelback (I know, you hate)..and I asked Nick, "why would anybody want to be a rock star?" hahahaha. British guy was sitting behind us who had an accent I've never heard before, but I'm Brit savvy enough now to know it was north so I asked if he was from Liverpool. It was odd because he talked real slow. Anyway it was Lancashire and the town sounded like he was saying "surely" or "Charley." He supports Manchester (Is that Daymo's team?) and I asked if he was one of those rowdies that sings all the songs. He goes everywhere like Russia to watch games. I love meeting strange people. He was hilarious.

The marmite was for first one to green card I thought. But since Obbynox and Magpie stumbled on RFEs that definitely puts you as the odds on favorite to win. Woohoo! hahaha

Now get better so you can be a proper Rock Star!

I think he probably said Chorley! lol thats cool. It's a town near where I come from!

Stupid cvs, I always hated having to write them.

I had to rewrite mine as one application I made here said my CV "wasn't American enough".

A friend of mine knows someone that paid to have theirs done professionally. He send me a copy of his based on that template, which I basically copied completely.

If you want a copy of it to give you something as a starting point, let me know.

thanks but those companies you pay put examples up on their sites and I have just spent the last week copying one  I am just finding it hard to explain in a beneficial manor my not industry relevant work experience, that and the whole bio at the beginning. :o not too keen on writing stuff like that it smacks of blowing ones trumpet and i always feel like a pleb. this is the site example i am using.

Shaz--Oh the moving in party.....how about some moving in help???? Nope, you're all crippled now and would be useless. But anytime there's a concert in Houston you like, come on down. A lot of concerts are at the Woodlands Pavilion (not really in Houston) and that's a short 15 minutes from the new house. That Lancashire guy actually drove down to the concert from Arlington and he said it was 3.5 hours to the Woodlands. I suspected Hinder was more your type than Nickelback. Woodlands Pavilion is an outdoor amphitheater sort of place but Nick liked the sound better than at the Toyota Center (downtown Houston.) The whole place was redone and upgraded after hurricane damage last September. There's covered reserved seating, then general admission on the hill. (Fake hill, LOL, this is totally flat country.)

Daymo---sorry about saying you supported Manchester. Must remember

brand.gif

Good luck on your resume writing folks. (we don't use the term CV so much.) The key is to make yourself look good. There are so many suggestions and templates out there, but who is to say which one is preferred except the website pushing it. Write several versions depending on the specific job you are applying for. Include key things that would fit that job and don't elaborate as much on something that doesn't relate if you've got an abundance of varied experience and need to focus it. American resumes are big on verbs or action words to say what you did at your previous job. Instead of saying "head clerk at Marks and Spencer", you say managed shoe department, supervised department staff, provided customer support, organized merchandise displays.....
