:D Hewwo guys, turns out I have another cold. On a lighter note, 'cause Knight didn't have classes today (and he does tomorrow), we decided to chance a walk-in for biometrics. There was nobody in line, and this was well into the afternoon! So, went in, had a fairly stoic chap do all the funky scanning of my fingertips (I was going to remark on how the guy had a foot-clicky thing like a mouse but he didn't look like one for conversation) and then it was done.

So, now what do we do? Wait? Booo...

Hugs!

Magpie.

Upon the mountain of that which would undo us, our banner shall fly highest.

Also wanted to say...Good luck today Hannah! I hope all goes well and I cant wait to hear some good news from you!

Ellie--you'd be better off waiting on going to the Social Security office until you get your EAD card. They are so odd at the various local offices and many are not allowed to change the name first go because USCIS doesn't have that married name in their database yet. You're going to want to take off that restriction writing that says you're not authorized to work. So just try the name change when you go with the EAD proof and kill two birds with one stone. No real value in getting a new card with name change, then having to go back in a few weeks and order another new card to take off the restriction.

Yes. Good luck to Hannah on 09-09-09. Cool date.

Is it normal for my check to still not be cashed? It got there on Friday. I had the same kinda timeline for the K1 (even with a Monday holiday) and my check would have been cashed by now. Same question with the NOAs..when should I be expecting them? Not til next week atleast, I am guessing?

Thanks Nich, That's good to know. They annoyed me sooo much at that office. It took forever to get the number to start with because my paperwork got buried.

That EAD is like the golden ticket right now....I cant wait to get my learners permit sorted, change the SSN and get some official ID!

My cheque took 7 days Laura. They seem to cash them in large numbers and not neccesarily daily, and the holiday will effect it.

The NOA's arrived shortly after.

The helplessness is hideous isn't it. I cant wait to get the EAD, get some structure going on in the daily routine, I feel like a great big, lazy, non-contributor at the moment who spends her days cleaning, folding clothes, channel hopping and drinking diet soda.

No. CSC sends out RFEs all the time. That's where an adjudicator goes through your case very carefully and evaluates your income, medical results, etc. But it does mean probably, most likely, almost for SURE you won't have an interview.

Yes Woo hoo to Hannah
