Seems USCIS have been busy. I have a biometrics date of 09/23/09 as well.

On another note, I also FINALLY received my SSN. I have the feeling that my application got buried, so after waiting for 5 weeks, I went into the office and asked what was going on. 8 days later and like magic....I have my SSN!

Now for the name change.....

I have done some updating on the spreadsheet. If I have missed any of the information provided, please let me know.

Just to add, On my NOA's it says my case was sent to the "National Benefits Center" in Missouri to be processed, anyone know why?

Yes, that's normal. You mail to the Chicago Lockbox which is a facility for receiving the applications. Contract workers open the mail, make sure the basics are sent in and the check is in the right amount, deposit the checks, etc. They create folders and take off all you pretty color coded stickies, cover letter, and throw away your cute binders. I forgot, but I think they log in the info and maybe issue the NOA. Then your file is sent to the USCIS facility in Missouri to be looked at by the USCIS. So whoever was worried about the USCIS not liking that the check was in her maiden name...the USCIS never sees your check, only contactors see it. They don't evaluate anything...just process the mail and create a standard folder. The NBC is also sometimes called the Missouri Service Center. I think that was the former name. That's where your process really gets started like scheduling your biometrics and sending to CSC or a local office for adjudicating.

Questions about interview? Do I need to take the original evidence ( I sent photocopies) sent with the affidavit of support , we never got an rfe, so should we take it? Could we still be rfed?

Next I wanna ask about evidences of co habiting assets, can I just photocopy the health insurance card? It has both our names on it? Any ideas as to what we could use as bank accounts evidence? They haven't sent us the first statement yet. And we can't log online yet to print off, we have a temp online banking code letter which is addressed to vito OR me or faint carbon paper copy of the form we both filled out to open the accounts, also have receipt for transfering funds to account like till receipt which has both our names at the bottom but not sure what's best to use?

Hannah--we didn't have an interview, so I'm only speaking of what I would have taken.

Originals of the visa, birth certificate, marriage certificate in case they want to verify that the copies they have are real and unaltered. Those kinds of official documents that you submitted in photocopy. Have them available to show if asked.

Normally you would carry your real insurance card in case you had an accident and were taken to the hospital, so sure show the original.

Bank account--take the paper where you opened the account. Not all banks even print both names on the statement. I asked mine and they said only the primary holder's name would be on the statement. (one primary person's SSN is attached to the account and the other is the joint member.) Take the transfer receipts with both names.

Take mail in either or both names sent to the address. It shows you live in that house where he lives. Does your driving permit list your address? Small things can show you co-habitate.

Take some photos of your wedding, especially with relatives to show you mix and mingle with his family and know their names if he asks you. Take some photos of you at home doing normal things or out with friends....things that look like a couple, not fraudsters posing.

That should be plenty. Most say it's an easy thing and rarely an inquisition.

:: sniff sniff :: You mean...you mean they've got rid of all my pretty red, white and blue paperclips and the fancy coversheets I did in garish tones? Why would they do something so awful? I think I have to go and lie down for the day now...

:P In any case, biometrics soon! Hoping that we won't get an interview because it'll be the birth certificate fiasco all over again. They only asked for a photocopy for the package, so fingers crossed...

Also, I my throat gets horrendously dry in the mornings. I have a little humidifier but it's not doing much. Suggestions?

Thanks Nich nick , I will take your advice yes my driving permit does have my address printed on it. and i can get examples of post sent to either of us but not much posted to both of us that i can think of off hand.

One last question, the evidences we take...do they really have to be photocopied? I think i am gunna end up in tears by the end of today. today is not going as smooth as it needs to be :crying:

Most descriptions of interviews I've read say the officer says "may I keep a copy of this?" and turns around and puts it on his copier or excuses himself and goes down the hall to the copier. If you had time and wanted to be super efficient, I suppose you could make copies . Then you could answer him, "oh don't bother, I brought a copy for you." It's not going to pass or fail you if you bring copies. I think they put a sampling of evidence in your file. I do hear of alot of people that take their wedding album and the officer says, "may I keep a few of these pictures?" Well if you don't want him tearing up your album, you might want to make some copies of photos you don't mind parting with. I think 4 should be plenty, so don't go re-printing 200 pictures. Keep your stress level down and don't over-do for the interview. They can tell you're a real couple. Just make sure you can name Vito's Aunt Shirley and cousin Jane if they are in pictures. It shows you're familiar with his family. Same for Vito if your Mum and Dad came to the wedding. He should be able to identify his in-laws. Uh-oh...test for Vito tonight.

This link http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/ has a place to search for reviews on local offices in a drop down. Leave the consulate unpicked, go to the Local Office drop down in the middle and pick your office. Maybe you can find something about interviews at the place you're going.

Thanks Nich-Nick we are not bothered about him keeping pictures because we have all the originals on cd. but we haven't finished our Wedding photo album yet and we have over 500 digital photos on cd of our wedding, So we just printed 15 photos for the interview instead of taking a whole album. Do you think this is enough photos? or do you think we should take more?

Ok so vito printed out another 6 or 8 photos and we decided to take them loosely in the half started wedding album/scrapbook we have as his aunt sunny started it for us and there is a lovely hand written message in the front from her cos she couldn't make it to the wedding. Also grabbed the small handful of engagement cards we got last year from my flood and friends and just a bunch of wedding cards, I didn't check which ones from who.

I got the family phone bill cos it got me on it. Family benifits plan letter from his work when he added me, a letter plus tickets bought with the card I get for discount travel through his work as his wife car insurance with my name at bottom oh and the three little bits of paper work that has us both on it for bank accounts and his credit card bill detailing what I had spent on the one he gave me ;).

As I am gunna take the originals of his wages stubs as proof for affidavit incase they want to see them they have our address on them plus a little bit of macys card junk for him and some doctors letters and macys stuff for me at same addy should cover that, plus my temp licence plus his licence .
