Right, well fingers crossed I managed to get the timeline sorted this time round!

Got the AP approval yesterday, so that's good.

congrats! looks like that went pretty fast for you!

Thanks guys. 31 days I think. Just hope the work permit comes through sooner rather than later! When I called USCIS the other day, they did say that they were only processing April's, which is a bit of a worry, but fingers crossed :D

Just checked online for the first time to see what's going on.

Used all 3 of the numbers that we have from the NOA1's this time round, and it would appear that the EAD card was ordered yesterday! Should be here in 30 days apparently.

I've never been so happy about being able to work! It'll be a nice break from all the running around that Mrs PG has me doing to be honest!!

It won't take 30 days, mate; you'll have it within a week. But then comes the real challenge: getting a job! If you haven't got something lined up, don't expect to just wlk into something, and be prepared for a lot of disappointment/rejection. Took me 2 months of continuous effort to land something (and I only landed that by putting on my gladrags and chancing my arm going door-to-door). The traditional route of applying to advertised positions led to #### all.

Will i potentially be able to get my case numbers off the back of my check when they cash it, like with K1, or do I just have to wait for the NOA?? Also, has anyone had any luck doing a walk in bio appointment in Chicago? I'm assuming you still have to wait for the bio letter before you walk in right? Yes...I'm way impatient lol

I'm guessing labor day weekend will slow things down a bit? Not that it matters, am off to the Reno Rib Cook Off for meat and beer with the missus and her folks for their wedding anniversary :D

Thanks for the tip and the heads up tho. Am even more encouraged now!

I've actually found a million and one jobs here that I am genuinely interested in - I think I am in the right part of the world for sustainability related nonsense - it's just the actual getting them as you say. I'll have to put on my bestest accent and see if that helps - if not, it'll be McDonalds or something similar! Preferably Taco Bell or In'n'Out to be honest if i'm going down the fast food route!

Hi Laura ....

Our cheque isn't showing up as cashed yet, so I don't know about the case number being on the back - sorry!

It does say on my biometrics letter that you need to take the appointment letter with you - I'm assuming it will be the same for a walk in. I'm not going to do a "walk in" - I'm going to wait until my actual appointment date as public transport to Des Moines just isn't an option. Steve is going to arrange the day off work and take me up on the 22nd.

Pothergavel - I'm in the same boat as you. I can see lots of jobs that I would like to do and could apply for when I get my EAD, but I would be happy to work in my local Michael's, Petland, Walgreen's etc until I get the job I want. They're all within walking distance too, which will help!

Good luck and have a good weekend all ...

Hi Laura,

I had a number on the back of my cheque but when I put it into the USCIS login it didn't work. When the NOA's arrived I realised that was because the number on the back of my cheque wasn't relevant to any of the NOA's I received...

I have to go and collapse on the couch. We just went to Crackerbarrel for brunch and I think i'm dying.

We got our biometrics letter today-- John's appointment is on Sept 23 at the USCIS office in Atlanta. Woo-hoo!

Also, for the spreadsheet, we did NOT do an I-693 as John was all caught up with his shots at the Knightsbridge clinic, so we only enclosed the DS3025. The date on our NOAs was 8/24, but we received them on 8/28. Our bio notice was received on 9/4.
