Hello fellow UK Vj'ers! Sorry we've not been on for the past two months, we've had an extremely busy time in organising our lives together! Our paperwork for AOS will be sent off either on Monday or Tuesday this week because we are still waiting for an additional document to come through the mail. This is like the K1 visa process all over again lol! Also a great big thank you to Nich-Nick  for the detailed list on page 6 of this thread, it made the paperwork process much easier.

Can't wait to start working, boredom kicks in now and then, especially when the wife is in work. Unfortunately state law does not allow me to start driving until I have proof that I'm eligible to stay in the country for at least 160 days. The EAD can't come soon enough! For AOS we are not submitting the I-693 since I received all of my necessary shots when I was back in the UK. Fingers crossed the USCIS doesn't lose my medical record from Knightsbridge.

Good Luck Jim and Christy, and I would like to second the thank you to nich-nik for her summary of the AOS package.

I hear you on the boredom. My husband works odd hours (nights, weekends, weekdays....depending on the contract) and I am going crazy. I dont expect to be able to get work quickly, but between just applying for jobs and learning to drive, it'll be far more occupying than eating chips, watching cable and picturing myself utilizing the gym.....but never quite making it there.

Mind you....I expect adjudication of my case to take longer now. I had a horrific realization this morning.....

Whilst I colour coded all the different packages, put tabs on them and supplied more than enough evidence for the i-864....I forgot to sign the G-325A's. I called myself a few colorful names this morning....that's for sure. And sadly my husband looked over my forms after working nights so he was exhausted.

I'm kicking my own butt right now.

Never mind.....at least we are doing this together this time.

Ellie, I wouldn't worry too much...if they need you to do something, they'll contact you and things will be good :D.

I have a question...how vital is it to send the X-Rays you got at your visa medical to the USCIS? We forgot to and I'm wondering whether they'll be wanting them. Also, is it possible to just wander into the biometrics place (wherever it is) and ask for an appointment? I just want to speed up the process since Knight's back in university and he'll be hard-pressed to work between classes, as he's close to finishing. I just want to be supportive and, y'know, actually be able to work, whether it's waiting tables or bear-wrestling.

Magpie.

Upon the mountain of that which would undo us, our banner shall fly highest.

X-Ray isn't required to be sent in to the USCIS since the doctor who performed the medical at Knightsbridge would have recorded the results and placed it in the package you handed in at the Point of Entry. Regarding Biometrics I think you have to wait for a letter from the USCIS which provides details of when and where you will have that appointment. Mine will be either at Atlanta GA or Birmingham AL.

Oh silly Magpie! Where did you get that USCIS wants your x-ray? Hang it on your fridge like Moira did (Mrs_stp) I think she's the one.

When you get an appointment letter for biometrics you can try doing a walk-in before the assigned date. Most offices are pretty nice about allowing that. But you will need to show the appointment letter (with barcoding on it for case numbers) and your passport to get in the door.

I'll pay to see you bear wrestle. :P

I know, I's a silly magpie -- for some reason, I thought they would want the big X-Ray tube thing.

And I'll try and find a bear, but I've been told that wrestling with them is a bad idea. Bears aren't fond of surprises, especially if they come in the form of hikers who accidentally stumble upon a sow and her cubs. But still! I'm committed now, so it looks like I have to find a bear to wrestle.

=D Also, thankums all for the info.

Yay! Congrats! Still working on what to take to my interview, it's in two weeks :s

What evidences will they expect? Are you sure about them not wanting the x Ray? Not even if we get interview? Why did the guy make a point of telling me to take it to America then?

They wont need your xray. The people interviewing you are in no way medically qualified to look at your xray. All of the results of your xray have been submitted already and if there was a problem you would have gotten an RFE.

Evidences.

So far (Yeah I am being far to ####### and collecting this already) I have compiled:

Evidence of joint bank account

Evidence of us both being on the apartment lease

Joint cell phone account

We adopted our cat together from the county pound and are both on the paperwork..So I'd use that :D

Joint Health Insurance

Closer to the time:

(when I learn to drive) Joint vehicle insurance

Statements from friends...testifying to our relationship.

Good Luck Hannah :D

I'm missing our Britain's Got Talent running commentary we had going last year. It's started up again, but we were out and didn't watch it on the Slingbox. I watched some of the acts on YouTube.
