Shaz--are you going to try to do a walk-in biometric appt to speed things up?

No not going to do a drop in will just go as scheduled, cant believe how laid back I am about it all not like me at all lol thanks G luv ya x

Yep, laid back is how we were too. I was just happy to be living in the same time zone and same house even...and the other stuff could come when they got ready to send it. I knew it would be approved so didn't get too worked up over it.

So everybody waiting....YOU WILL BE APPROVED.

Well done, Bubba. You're in high cotton now.

*Southern expression 'in high cotton' meant the cotton picker didn't have to stoop so low. The stalks were tall and the cotton bolls were thick on the stalk and easy pickin's. Used to indicate that times were good.

I've updated the UK AOS Timeline with Shaz, Ellie, and Julie.

Question to Julie and Ellie: Did you use a Civil Surgeon or send the DS3025 from Knightsbridge? Anything for the notes column like Dr. Arnold or got HPV in the US like I put on some people.

Shaz--are you going to try to do a walk-in biometric appt to speed things up?

I just sent through the DS3025 from Knightsbridge, so no notes for us. I got all vaccinations updated at knightsbridge.

Cheers,

Chris (and Julie!)

As a frequent lurker in this thread, I thought I'd add a little experience we've had.

I don't know if anyone else is trying to qualify to support their spouse using current income with a past year's tax return well under the poverty level, but apparently you cannot use the I864EZ, even though you're only using income to qualify (no assets necessary). Maybe that was in the instructions and I missed it, but I suspect it's not.

So we got an RFE requesting an I-864. Really not a problem as I currently make well over the poverty level, but worth knowing in order to avoid an RFE in this part of the process.

Yay Damian! Try not to wreak too much havoc on your part of the world now.

:o By the way, it's a bad sign when you find a pile of bear cwap near the vegetable patch, just twenty metres or so away from the house. I've come all this way to get stalked by a bear...I wanted to see a bear, but not this much!

I like to share my Alaskan adventures :P.

:D And thanks for the tidbit, Krysti+Jon.

Hi Everyone ...

Congrats to everyone moving along with the AOS process .....

My AOS docs are finally on their way to Chicago. I sent the DS3025 from Knightsbridge - so am keeping my fingers crossed that the DS3025 will be enough for them.

Nich - you are so right in what you said earlier - there is no point in stressing - I know that I'll be approved somewhere along the line and am content to wait patiently ... ummmm don't let me forget that .... ok?

We're heading off to Pagosa Springs in Colorado tonight for a week's vacation. We're driving, so am looking forward to doing some sightseeing between Iowa and there ...

Take care everyone and have a great weekend ....

Blah, one last thing before I take the package to the Post Office.

Can someone please confirm that the address below is the correct one to send the AOS pakage to? I was double checking the address (as you do lol) and noticed that there are two addresses - one of them says express??

I'm sending the package "signed for" so that I can track it online - the address I have is USCIS, PO Box 805887, Chicago, IL, 60689-4120.

Can someone confirm that this is the correct one?

Thanks in advance!

 Well, that's where I sent it to, and I have my NOA1, so that's right. I didn't notice the other address before, though:

USCIS

Attn: AOS

131 South Dearborn - 3rd Floor

Chicago, IL 60603-5520

That one's for courier/express...did anybody use that one? Otherwise, I think you're good to go, Moira :D.

The P.O. box address is if you use the United States Post Office services for mailing.

The other physical address is for FedEx, UPS, DHL--courier type services because they only deliver to physical addresses and not PO Boxes.

You will be fine mailing in a US Post Office Priority Mail cardboard sleeve thingie and add the delivery confirmation card attached that they return to you. It's trackable and you get the card back with proof of delivery. I might add that I tracked mine and saw that it was delivered but the little green card didn't make it back to me for 6-8 weeks...maybe longer but I've forgotten. So it was kind of a waste of money since I knew it was there from the Priority Mail tracking and the return card took a long holiday before coming home.

Hehe...the best way to sightsee between Iowa and Colorado is to get on the interstate and drive like mad until you hit Denver!

Seriously, Nebraska's best driven through at night, when you don't have to pretend like there's something to look at!

Have fun and best of luck on your AOS!

Hello fellow UK Vj'ers! Sorry we've not been on for the past two months, we've had an extremely busy time in organising our lives together! Our paperwork for AOS will be sent off either on Monday or Tuesday this week because we are still waiting for an additional document to come through the mail. This is like the K1 visa process all over again lol! Also a great big thank you to Nich-Nick  for the detailed list on page 6 of this thread, it made the paperwork process much easier.

Can't wait to start working, boredom kicks in now and then, especially when the wife is in work. Unfortunately state law does not allow me to start driving until I have proof that I'm eligible to stay in the country for at least 160 days. The EAD can't come soon enough! For AOS we are not submitting the I-693 since I received all of my necessary shots when I was back in the UK. Fingers crossed the USCIS doesn't lose my medical record from Knightsbridge.
