His greencard arrived today in the mail. WOOHOO!! We are so relieved!!

Silly question for you all, but does he need to carry his GC on him at all times or just until he has his Texas drivers license?

Congratulations on having your card in hand, its a good feeling :)

Still waiting on the service request about the noa2 from k1 petition. If they don't sort it I hope the info and proofs I gave instead is enough and they don't rfe me. I don't think there is anything else I can send them if they ask

I've had no touches whatsoever on the I-485. I have however, had 3 seperate emails from CRIS advising me that my EAD was approved, and card production ordered: 2 prior to receipt of the card, and weirdly, one after I received it.

As far as the job front goes, I decided to lower my sights today (and when I say lower, I mean bottom dwell) and signed on at an agency. They want to see me again tomorrow for a more "in-depth" interview - whatever.

I got a touch on all my applications from the 19th ( the day the check went through) to the 23rd was hoping it's the biometrics notice but the wording still hasn't changed still says received notice of reciept was sent and is pending. Should there have been a change in words if my biometrics notice was sent?

They would likely touch/update your file to show checks received and NOA notice sent, as well as biometric appointments. Your status will always be pending and show no status change except for:

RFE

Resumed processing after
RFE
satisfied

Transfer to
CSC

Approval/Card production ordered

Welcome letter sent

That's about all I can think of that changes the status. You should get a CRIS email if those things happen. Just sit back and wait and forget about the touches except once a month out of curiosity. They happen differently so often for people that you don't really have a good measure from them. You may get touched the day of biometrics and you may not. It doesn't mean much if you do or don't because your case is still processing. If you watch touches, then you'll worry if you don't get one. Or if you do get one, you'll worry that it's an RFE. You'll get an email if something changes your status, followed by a notice in snail mail.

Hi Everyone

I just found you all while trying to figure everything out.

Have read through not yet digested all your posts.

I do not see any of you in our situation maybe you are and can help me? Or maybe you know how to find a thread that will tell me exactly what to do.

I have read the guidlines still feel overwhlemed.

I also do not know how to do a timeline to show or get my situation to show??

This is our situation.

Met husband in 2006 he has visited several times for up to 9 weeks at a time in last 3 years.

New husband entered March 30, 2009 for a visit on VWP events transpired (he did not come here to marry me, he has a job and child in UK plus elderly family, he came for a vacation) things changed and we decided to get married while he was here June 13,2009

So now we are married and he is here how do we AOS so he can be here legally?

What do we file is it just CR1 or should be we file K3 or is one better than the other?

Hope somebody can advise us as it all feels scary we just want to get his status here legal now.

Thanks

On another post I have been told that I do not need to apply for any visa (CR1 or K3) as my husband is here in USA?

That all in need to apply is I-130 and I485 is that correct?

Do I need to do anything else?

It feels too easy?

Thanks for any help

If you look up in the menu bar under GUIDES you will find the help you need. Looking down in the left column there is a guide called US Citizen and Spouse both live/reside in the US:

That should get you started. Meanwhile, he shouldn't leave the US for any reason.

Thanks for any help

it is my understanding from here and a conversation with an immigration attorney way back that because there was no intent to immigrate when your husband entered the country then he is eligable to aos from the vwp based on your marriage. I believe though there is a chance they may ask you to prove this at interview so i would keep all evidence you have handy just in case. Someone correct me if i am wrong plus i believe the forms you need are the I-130 (petition for alien spouse?) and I-485 (petiton to adjust status) plus i believe from a frustrating conversation with the misinformation line that you can also do the ead and ap for same price as the I-485 like us. i am unsure if you have to pay a separate fee for the I-130, i was told by misinformation line it was covered by the same fee but i expect he was wrong. i know the I-485 ead and ap (sorry forgot the last two form numbers) are $1010 i think when i looked at the other form it might be over $300 i can't remember. there is a aos from vwp forum just under this aos forum and i believe that there are many on here that have done what what you are about to do and they will be more knowledgeable than me.
