Hewwo all!

I saw Nich's wonderfully helpful post on AOS filing, but I also had a look at the USCIS website just to make sure that no forms have changed. Now, this linky here has confused me a little as to what I need now and what I don't. Soooo:

* Form I-485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status

* Please review Supplement A to Form I-485 to see if additional fee requirements apply to you.

* Form G-325A Biographic Data Sheet (Between the ages of 14 and 79)

* Form I-693 Medical Examination Sheet (not required if you are applying based on continuous residence since before 1972, or if you have had a medical exam based on a fiancé visa)

* Two color photos taken within 30 days (Please see USCIS Form I-485 for more instructions on photos.)

Pretty self-explantatory. I know I need those but not the I-693, because I got my medical examination on my fiance visa...or do I? I know I still need the HPV shot, so I'll talk to Knight about that.

* Form I-864 Affidavit of Support (completed by the sponsor). (This requirement may not apply to you if you are adjusting to permanent resident status based on an employment petition.)

So Knight would fill this out...?

* Form I-765 Authorization for Employment (if seeking employment while case is processed). For more information, see How Do I Get a Work Permit?

* Evidence of inspection, admission or parole into the United States (Form I-94, Arrival Departure Record). See How Do I Get an Arrival-Departure Record? for more information.

The departure record thing you mentioned is probably in my passport (and I think it is), but I was just wondering if it asks for evidence on the documents themselves (I haven't looked at them quite yet - I want to do that with Knight).

# If you have already been approved for an immigrant petition , you must submit a copy of the approval notice sent to you by the USCIS.

# If you were admitted into the United States as a fiancé of a U.S. citizen and married that citizen within the required 90 days, you must submit a copy of the fiancé petition approval notice and a copy of your marriage certificate.

And that's the NOA2 notice and the marriage certificate right there, so my only real question had to do with the medical things. :D I like to have a full understanding of stuff, so do correct me (or bop me over the head) if I've missed anything. I'll include two colour photographs as Nich said in her post with each packety thing, but I don't need the Advance Parole Travel document, do I? Doesn't look like I'll be travelling outside the US anytime soon...

Thankums all (and luffs to Nich)!

I got my medical with k1 less than a year ago too but i got the I-693 vaccination transcribed solely because i opted to delay mmr and hpv till America by which point my tet and dip ran out. Someone quote me if i am wrong but wouldn't lacking a vaccination and not having a waiver for it get an rfe at some point? and therefore i opted to do it just because the my k1 medical paperwork did not show evidence of my required vaccinations that i got after the medical and i assumed I would need to provide this evidence either with the aos application or at the interview, so i just got it (cost me $35) and send it with the packet.

as for arrival departure record... do you remember filling out a white card stock like the normal green one we do on the plane for visa waiver? they should have given you back (normally they staple it onto the page of your passport near entry stamp.) the bottom half thats it..the I-94 entry/departure record. hope this helps.

Magpie--you need the HPV in the US so get it wherever it's cheapest and get signed documentation of receiving it. You only have to have the first one of 3 to file and get approved. Look over the immunization sheet from Knightsbridge and see if that is complete...MMR, Tdap or Td are most commonly needed. Most of the others are for babies and will be marked not age appropriate. If you had chickenpox, the Varicella will say VH (varicella history) which means that's okay.

So you will have to have the immunization section of the I-693 completed by a Civil Surgeon in the US. You don't get a full exam. You can read the first post in the sticky about the medical in the top of the AOS forum which explains that. It tells about Dr. Arnold in Austin, TX who will put your Knightsbridge records and your new HPV record onto the I-693 by mail for $30 or $35. If you can find a Civil Surgeon as cheap in Anchorage then do that. Most people have trouble with Civil Surgeons saying they have to do the whole medical over. YOU DON'T. Or they want to charge $100 to copy your shot records. Call and discuss it before making an appointment with a Civil Surgeon who might overcharge you.

I'm sure you've got all the other stuff. When you go get the marriage license, ask if you can bring it back signed by the officiant and get your certified copy while you wait. We did that and so you might as well ask rather than wait on somebody to get around to doing it and mailing it to you. That part depends on your local office.

You sound happy. :luv:

Your I-94 will look something like this http://www.geocities.com/derek5/i-94.jpg

You filled out the top part which they kept at the POE airport and they gave you back the bottom bit that looks like the picture.

I have two quick questions, that probably have been answered but I haven't found them yet.

First one is....... Can my husband still apply for his Texas drivers license, even though the interviewer took his EAD when they said he was approved? We still haven't received his green card.

Second question.....

Can we change and update his SS card without having his green card? Would showing the welcome letter and the approval letter from our interview, be sufficient?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give us. Wish everyone the best. :)

Nick did the TX driver's license and SS update using his EAD card, both in Angleton if you're familiar with that town. I'm thinking they will want to see a card, but that may be awhile if you've read the card production delay posts. You could always go in with what you have, but I think at the DPS they are wanting to see something with a date showing you have at least 6 moths validity in the US or a real card. At the DPS, even with an EAD card they give a temporary visitor license (alien license) with a portrait orientation rather than the regular landscape orientation one. He went back with the GC and had to pay more money to get a normal license. If you make an infopass appointment they are supposed to give you that stamp to show GC status (I-551?) since they are experiencing card delays due to changing the system. That stamp should work.

:D :D :D Eeeeeeeeee, guys, I somehow got a 2:1 on my degree by some obscure means...

Also, oops, I think I have to get my third booster for Hep B or something. I know I got two of the shots in the UK, but I don't know whether I have to get the third six months or four months after that one here in the US...

With regard to the hep B the 3rd shot is due 6 months after the first. You don't need this for AoS only for occupational purposes.

Somebody translate 2:1 into American please.

You don't need Hep shots. There's a list of who needs them in the footnote area of the CDC document. It's for people who are in contact like in the health care field, drug users, men who have sex with men, etc, etc. See page 4 of this:
