offtopic45vn.gif I was just happy to have put our tax returns in the mail today. Supposedly, the government owes us money. Cross your fingers for us (thanks for the advice, Nich! Glad you're feeling better!)

"Card Production Ordered" email #2!

I am now hurrying off to read deep meanings into this.

Edit:

EAD card email 1 on biometrics date - I think it's the "we ordered it"

EAD card email 2 3 days later - I think it's the "we mailed it"

That makes sense given my observations on how long the mail takes. We'll see if I'm right. If so - should be in the mail box by the end of the week! :)

:D I'm curious to know how fast it is, too, but it takes a bit longer up here in the Alaska. Grats on the card production being ordered, though!

Also, well done to Rosalinda :D Woohoo! You'll do fine on your driving test too, I expect.

To Snowbunnies, they gave us our tax return within two weeks, I think. We e-filed through TurboTax, but I suspect yours was more complex than mine and Knight's (as we don't really own much).

Huggums to Marm :D Thankums for the support.

Offs to work I go, now. Friday and Saturday off, woohoo!

Magpie.

Upon the mountain of that which would undo us, our banner shall fly highest.

Mine prefers to make muffins. We gotta get some Dunkan Hines coupons, because we only have Betty Crocker, and BC doesn't make the chocolate muffins with chocolate chips...those are about as good as cookies. :)

I'm still holding out for the green card to arrive in the mail today.

:D Good luck for Nigel's interview, Allie! I'm sure you two will knock their socks off.

Eeee, and congrats, Heather! Yaaaaaay! It's got some cool holograms on it...just sit in the light and play with it until you get bored. I actually checked if there's anything UV under the UV scanner at the credit union (we were very amused by it for a day), but sadly not.

Yeah, someone had said they thought the UK flag was on there somewhere and I examined it closely looking for such a thing, but as the tiny flags in the holograms include the AZ state flag (the only one I'm really familiar with) I think they must all be state flags and maybe has some similar stripes on it.

My husband was approved at his AOS interview today! Link here for experience: MARM's hubby AOS.

I can't beleive that we are actually done for two years! So if my husband was approved today, March 30, 2010, does that mean the window to apply to remove conditions opens on March 30, 2012?

Visa Journey completed, but we are still here to provide support! :)

Congratulations MARM! What an end to a long journey. Enjoy the next 2 years, I hope you're celebrating. :dancing: Congrats to everyone else who has been approved also. Such a relieving feeling.

Just popping in to say that I still haven't heard back from Harvard.. I left two voice mails and an email, but no response. I don't know what else to do, looks like I'll have to give up on that one. I don't understand why they invited me for interview and then completely blanked me for two weeks.. ho hum. The driving is going well, I've been learning for two weeks and have already driven on the highway... not nervous at all, just can't wait to be able to get myself out of the house!

Hope everyone is doing well.

hello hello all! Glad to see so many of you have your GCs now! So exciting. Nothing new with me, bar it was my birthday last week and the hubbys tomorrow... been applying to a dozen jobs here and there, nothing back yet but some agencies are playing phone tag with me in the meantime. Trying to sort out something with my local DMV. Grrr.

Oh WOW! Really happy for you MARM. The window closes around March 30, 2012 (two years from the card issue date.) He'll have an expiration date on the GC. He has to have it renewed before the expiration. So they say to apply 90 days prior to the expiration, which will be around New Year's Day 2012. If you send it earlier than 90 days, they will reject it.

I have been working in the yard alot planting flowers, bulbs, and shrubs. Spring has motivated me. There are sisters in the neighborhood (ages 4 and 8) who love helping me. The kept fighting over the little garden spade, so I bought another one and some neon colored kid's garden gloves for them. They are so chuffed (trying to speak British. hahahaha) It takes me twice as long with the little helpers, but they love digging, planting and watering.

And the media room is getting painted. It was the big old (badly painted) burnt orange room. Now it's a pleasant dark grayish/greenish taupe color and is almost finished. We had to go get a third gallon of paint yesterday. We're being given a sofa for it. Of course there's no "media" stuff but I'm sure my husband is cooking up plans in his mind for his future "Man Cave."
