Congratulations to you guys, woohoo! No USCIS for two years, now...and then you get to remove conditions, woo.

I might have just got my first cold here in Alaska. Throat's burning, nose is runny, and my eyes want to pop out of my head and go running down the road. I can't say that I'm enjoying it much, but good ol' vanilla Roobois tea should kick it out of my system.

Magpie.

Thank you! We've been passing that icky cold around, too When does it warm up in Alaska?

Two successful interview! Well done.

Sorry my little Sunshine is under the weather. Take lots of Vitamin C and stay away from cats.

LOL, just kidding. ^_^

I got out of the hospital on Friday and have been taking it easy. I hurt, darn it! Guess I forgot surgery makes you very, very sore. But it'll get better. Meanwhile my wonderful husband is taking very good care of me.

Aawh, Mama Nich, you're well on the road to recovery. It sounds like the surgery went well, for which I'm glad. I hope the soreness goes away soon! All my love goes out to you, and thank goodness for hubby-wonderful. As for me, I've been trying to get lots of good things into my system, but no bread and mushrooms for a while until my body's balanced again (that's another story).

Snowbunnies, Alaska getting warmer depends on what mood Alaska is in. We're going through "break-up" at the moment (which could be Alaska falling out with the snow), where it'll be melting for a bit, a tad warmer, and then everything freezes over again and it snows. It'll do that a few times (confusing all the budding trees), and then hopefully spring will finally hit.

Hugs to all! I'm going to get something in my tummy, and hopefully, it'll stay there.

Magpie.

Upon the mountain of that which would undo us, our banner shall fly highest.

Good going! What's the timeframe for ROC (if I were less lazy atm, I'd look myself)?

My news is that Ian got his driver's license today (aced it!) I thought it was good that we compared notes about driver's testing for emergency stops in the UK vs. the US. In the UK, apparently the emergency stop is hard, immediate braking where in Nebraska, it means "slowly pull off the road, park and put on your emergency lights". lol

Can you imagine doing the UK maneuver when the US instructor is expecting something entirely different? :D

Thanks everybody. You're good people. :luv: Good to see the beautiful Camie with that handsome husband John around here.

Daymo keep us posted on how the ROC goes. Folks that didn't know Damian way back, his wife died suddenly so he can remove conditions now without waiting on the two year thing. Otherwise, your first GC expires in 2 years. You remove conditions (more forms and money) before that expiration. You're supposed to apply 3 months before that expiration. So for you Snowbunnies, it'll be around Thanksgiving 2011 you'll be sending off your ROC stuff.

That's funny about the hard stop in the driving test. It seems like our hard stop in TX was slamming on the brakes, but I don't know if they do that anymore. Nick just had a very simple driving test. She could tell he was a very experienced driver and only had him drive around the block a few times and parallel park. Then she said 'you pass' without doing all the things on the test.

Kayte, you're going to be fine on the trip. You aren't going through an international flight terminal so no checks by CBP or immigration. You just get on and off the plane. Only the airlines will check your photo id to be sure it's you. A photocopy of your AOS receipt folded up in your handbag would be handy in case you get arrested for being drunk and disorderly with the bachelorettes. LOL...just kidding. Sounds like a fun trip.

I'm sure you'll be fine. Ian flew to Virginia with an expired i-94, but used his state ID as proof of identity. He was worried, too, so packed his passport and the notices we'd received from USCIS regarding the AOS filing in his carry-on luggage.

I've read that if you need to use your passport for ID, it's good to travel with your AOS notices "just in case".

Don't worry.

Ours was transferred to CSC, so we skipped the interview phase, but our EAD was approved about the same time as the transfer. Normally it's approved before the green card.
