We found out what the darn RFE is for:

"Submit copy of applicant's birth certificate..."

So it's not for the I-693 (big sigh of relief, but what if they send another RFE for that???)

And we did include a copy of my husband's birth affidavit (since he doesn't have a BC), but I guess they are losing documents...which does not give us ANY sense of comfort throughout this whole process.

Visa Journey completed, but we are still here to provide support! :)

Sorry about the RFE Marm, but at least it's just for the BC. You can get that patched up quickly.

Thanks for the well-wishes, the luncheon went well. I was the first to speak with the recruiter and he loved that I was from the UK as he lived in Ireland for a bit, and liked to talk about the economic changes (I acted as though I knew what he was talking about) :D . I'll hear back within 2 weeks for another more formal interview, but it feels good.

We've also spotted an apartment that we like, and as soon as I get the job (any one really), we can sign the lease. We're hoping to do this in March as it's a free month rent. It's a little pricey (over $1000 a month) but that's not too much over the average in Mass (about 850).

I'm going to England today!! My flight is tonight, and I arrive tomorrow morning. I can't wait to surprise my best friends. My MIL is being paranoid and wanting me to take my AP just in case, even though I have my GC.

Sorry I didn't have time to read everyone's updates. I hope everyone is well.

Grats to n1dom! Nice to see some progress there :D.

Marm, I'm breathing a big sigh of relief for you on my end. I don't think they'd send you a separate RFE if they needed anything else. :D And if they lost the other copy...whoops. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Gemmieeeee, email me your full name for Facebook so I can add you :D. My privacy settings have me hidden.

EAD in the mail for us yesterday as well. We also got notice that the AP documents we received last week were approved.

Really? We thought they sent them out and THEN approved them. Glad they told us about that. :P

I was hoping that the NOA notice would be that we were transferred to CSC. Oh well. I checked the mail, but I resisted the whole way from the mail box to the kitchen from opening them. I'm glad Nik was right by the door, I was running out of resolve not to open his mail for him!! :)

We got our AP approval notice and the AP docs separately, but on the same day. I think a lot just depends on the mail delivery :)

Hey Allie, I saw your question, but others had already said the same as I would have. I checked the back of my check and it has an MSC number on it - very poorly scanned though - almost illegible!

My MSC number on the back of our cashed check did not resemble the case numbers we had when the NOAs came for our AOS/AP/EAD apps, so don't even worry about it!

Some information to pass on to those who had (or still have) bank accounts in the UK during the year 2009 with a value of over $10,000 (convert to US dollars.)

You are to report to the Dept of Treasury (IRS) the maximum value of that account in 2009. I was reminded of it because TurboTax asked "Do you have any foreign bank accounts?" It's not filed with your taxes, but must be mail separately by June 30, 2010. TurboTax was just reminding and filled out the form for printing.

They ask the name, address, and account number of each of your accounts. You don't pay taxes on it. It's just a mandatory reporting so they can keep up with criminals and tax evaders I guess.

Here's the page with other links to Q&A and a link to the form near the bottom. It's called Form TD F 90-22.1. It is often referred to as the FBAR (Foreign Bank Account Reporting) http://www.irs.gov/businesses/small/articl...=148849,00.html

You might want to see if it applies to you.

You file it every year that you have a foreign bank account greater than $10,000.

Hi Guys, Been a While since I stuck my nose in here to have a look how you are all doing.

Finally remembered to remove the conditions on my ssn card today, yup i was procrastination. I got the greencard in September. was funny though cos i gave her my greencard (p.s. take another form of identity to back yourself up not just green card and ssn card like i did with you apparently doesn't have to been in married name, so i through at her my amtrak pass and medical insurance card) well she looked at me after typing on the computer and asked when i got the greencard and i said sept 09 why? well the immigration system still has you down as ######### not your married name that's odd. seems i am not the only one whos been procrassinating then huh immigration peeps?

Anyhow has anyone changed the name on their passport yet? I need to fill in the forms tonight and get it sorted tomorrow or it will be too late i think. we are traveling on the 14th of april but i am confussed about the form questions and also the supporting docs needed.

Do i really need to send 2 new pictures even though my current passport was renewed with new pics nov 08? do i need a counter signatory as well they way i understand it i don't but if they are not renewing my picture why do they need a new photo?

Nich - What version of TurboTax are you using? I SO don't know a thing about international taxes. I'm inclined to just let HR Block do them this year, even though I normally do my own. :(

Allie - The NOA1's (one for each form you filed) will come quickly. I bet you have them by the end of next week. :)
