Lots of good news today and updates to the spreadsheet. :D Congratulations.

I'm slow catching up because we went into the city to my doctor appointment which took 3.5 hours waiting (groan). He's a brilliant surgeon, but darn it's hard to see him. He's gotten very famous/busy since I first met him 5 years ago. After the appointment, we went to a pub in another part of the city and had some Brit food. And I drove home because the doctor cleared me to drive. Yay!

Daymo--I agree that the thread belonged in the chit-chat-congratulations part of the AOS. But why did it take somebody so long to figure that out? And after so long, why did they bother? I still think it belongs in the UK regional where you started it, since it's regional people helping and sharing with each other in the next step after the visa.

ok, I know a lot has been written about RFE's for medical but i'm a little confused . If anyone can clarify I'd be totally grateful....

I had my medical done in UK and submitted DS3025. It was out of date when I submitted so I knew I was taking a risk...

The civil surgeons I have contacted in Houston are quoting $125 for physical which includes TB skin test. I had a BCG as a kid so that will come back positive. I will then be referred for a chest xray at $65. This also involves taking 3 mornings off work (a job I just started so far from ideal). I have asked if it's possible to get the blood work done instead of the TB test. One doctor says no, USCIS won't accept this and another says yes no problem but additional cost of approx $100.

So, my questions are

1) can i just get blood work done instead of skin test?

2) will this then nullify the requirement for a chest xray

3) is it possible to just transcribe my UK medical (as I say it is out of date so I'm guessing not...)

Thanks!

A.

Not necessarily. I had BCG as a kid too, and mine came back negative.

Well finally an interview. So weird how yours got stuck in the slow lane. Ours took a long time too and we didn't even have an RFE delay. We were transferred to CSC and people that had interviews from our filing month were done and dusted way before us. I laughed at the letter that said "to speed up the process" your case is being sent to California. It's all pretty unpredictable but eventually it does happen.

Question: Does anybody have a UK phone number for Stinky Monkey?? Like maybe her mother's house or her old mobile number? She went to UK at the end of October to visit her mum for 3 weeks, and said she wasn't going to be online while she was away. But I heard roundabout that she had back surgery and I don't think she's back in Texas yet. I was wanting to call and check on her.

Hewwo Nich -- I'm still trying to find the charger for my UK phone. I found the phone itself, but what with everything being moved about, I can't seem to find the UK charger or the adapter. I'll keep looking...I know that I had called her cell on there. Do you know if she cancelled her cellphone plan, though?

 I hope she's OK though. Maybe she disappeared because of the Christmas season.

I hope everyone had a lovely holiday.

Stinky Monkey (Shaz) was having alot of back problems and pain in October and seeing a doctor/having treatments. Her facebook page has people commenting, "I just heard about your surgery." etc, etc. My guess is that it got bad again while she went to the UK and she decided to have surgery over there. I would guess there is some recovery and follow up before she could get on a 10 hour plane ride back to Dallas. And her Mum is there to give her 24/7 care until she's able to get about.

Happy New Year Ya'll. :jest:

I talked to Stinky Monkey (Shaz) this afternoon. She's still in London and has been quite ill with her back problems. She spent a month in the hospital flat on her back, but didn't have surgery....just morphine, other meds, bed rest, etc. She's home at her Mum's for now and isn't sure when she will be released to travel.
