... were you one of the crazies that were up at 3am for Black Friday?

Heck no. I never do that. Went out last weekend and got a few things. And online ordering rocks. Somebody brings it to your door. Would love to think of something else for the hubby, but he's so hard to buy for. He's very particular about whatever gadgets and gizmos he wants.

(Still nothing on the ol' AOS... just started week 10 since NOA, so hopefully hear something soon)

It'll come soon. We waited over 5 months!! It just sat at CSC, I guess stuffed in a box in the storage room. It's just a relief to get it and know you're done with immigration for awhile.

 Magpie---of course you would be out early. It's kinda wildly festive, I guess, to be in the shopping madness.

:D It depends on what he has already. I could probably think of a thing or two, but he's probably more up-to-date with that stuff than I am.

:P It was more that I was hoping to get a laptop, but they were all sold out by the time I got to Wal-Mart. I couldn't believe how crazy it was! In any case, a lot got done, so I was quite pleased with the results. It was very bizarre, though, that a lady saw me hesitating and yelled at me to "be aggressive!" Another guy went, "COMBAT SHOPPING!" and hopped into an aisle. :P I'm sure he was having fun.

ok well i got an rfe, my first, never had one when i did my k1. i have to provide tax stuff and the i693. didnt know what the freekin i693 was then i looked in my folder and found it. now heres the thing i think i'm out of time for my medical, because on the i693 it says 31/10/08 i mailed my aos package on the 31st of october. though they have it down as being recieved on the 2nd of november. My medical wasnt actually approved and sent through to the usembassy until April of 2009. Do you think I should ring em and get em to change the date on it to reflect that???

I'm kicking myself. it was hard enough getting this money together for the aos never mind having to go through all this ish with the drs again. I got completely fleeced in london.

What a bummer -- is there any way of getting compensation for that, or is the shipping company not liable? Congrats, in any case :D at least the stuff got there and the GC's been ordered.

And Primahen (MissusM09) -- I think you'd note your medical date for whenever you actually attended the medical. That's what I think I did, in any case. They'll probably send you an RFE if they feel they're lacking something. Hopefully I didn't misunderstand your post :P...I got up about half an hour ago, so my brain's still waking up.

hey magpie, i suppose you are awake now. I dont know what it is but i feel sleepy today, theres snow in the air apparently. No i got an rfe for the i693, my medical is out of date, so i have booked another one with a dr here in the D. only $150. I saw someone on here who had a medical for $60 dollars, no such luck here though. It has to be done, so my EAD will be delayed a little bit. ho hum. well at least its not like K1 where its extra hard because you are missing your hubby..... this is far more chill.

hows your job going magpie?

Congrats on the green card, Bob and Patricia! That was mega fast!

We're still waiting for anything... no touches in 6 weeks and biometrics was 7 weeks ago. I think my vision gets blurred whenever I look at the USCIS site. :P

Oooh...well, at least you're getting that RFE sorted...

And my job is awesome :D I couldn't have imagined working anywhere better. They treat people really well, and the training this week was great. We're down on a vehicle so Knight will have to drop me in Eagle River en route to Anchorage, but we can manage that. I can also get some very tidy commissions (made my first one yesterday on my live run!), which will be great in the long run. I mean, going from banks in England to banks/federal credit unions here is such a transition...I can't remember any bank in England where talking was acceptable. It was always quiet, very reserved, no music or anything...so you couldn't even talk about your account at a reasonable volume because everyone would hear you. Here, they're so open, there's music playing or a big screen TV going, people are more smiley and it's generally more relaxed. Soooo much better :D.

Gemmie, John and Mary -- you'll hear something soon :D 'tis the season to approve green cards...fa la la la la, la la la laaaa.

Yeah, your job does sound awesome! Makes me feel positive about the future (as I'm stupidly so nervous about working here).

I've applied to more positions as a psychology research assistant at colleges and hospitals. Not heard anything back yet, but I'm meeting with someone next week and will hopefully get some help applying to Meditech. She says the job will allow me to fly to London often (for free!) which is nice. But we'll see..
