Wow Nich, you must have the condition extremely bad if you have to have surgery. I hope everything goes well for you, let us know when you get the appointment so we can send you positive thoughts. Until then, relaxation for you!

Yes, the problem was it didn't just inflame and hurt like hell. It blew holes out that let tstuff out into where it shouldn't be, so bad bacteria and gross abdominal infection. It doesn't hurt now, but the part that blew out won't ever go back to being normal tissue again. That's why the surgery. And the date is Dec 3, so I get to have Thanksgiving dinner.

Nich-Nick

Thank you for helping me out, i can't tell you how much i appreciate it. I hope everything goes well health wise for you and you make a full recovery.

I am so happy AP moved along and I could pull something out of my bag of tricks to help.

Nich, my mom had that EXACT surgery done on Nov. 3, and she is bouncing back like it was nothing! They took her appendix out while they were "in there" too, just because they could. She hasn't even filled her prescription for pain meds and she's been out of the hospital for a week. She said there was no way any post-operative pain could rival the pain she had during her abscess/diverticulitis episode, so it's been smooth sailing. I hope that your procedure goes as well!

Oh, thanks for that. It's extremely encouraging. And thanks everybody for you kind wishes and concern. You're great people. I love VJ!! (L)

Good to hear you can have Thanksgiving dinner, Nich. Let's hope it doesn't cause you any pain. And I'll keep my fingers crossed on December 3rd.

Congrats on the job, Magpie! Sounds all intelligent and stuff. I'm waiting to hear from Boston University but I'm already shaking in my boots about working over here, and interviews. I haven't worked in a year and a half (because of university) and I haven't been away from my husband in 5 months, so am having silly separation anxiety. I do recognise that I really NEED a job to break out of that though. :D

Congrats on the GC, AP, and EAD, people!

Thankums, my lovely VJ peeps :D.

Nich, I forgot to say that I'm glad that things are progressing, and it's wonderful that you can have Thanksgiving dinner. You ARE well on the road to recovery, as yucky as it might be right now. :: Huggums :: and lots of luff!

Magpie.

/edit: I keep forgetting to say things :P I'm so excited about this new job! Gemmie, I went through the same thing when Knight would be working...but I'm a lot more relaxed about it now because I've got lots happening, and I know he'll be home at night. Weeee :D

Dont worry Gemmie, I felt the same thing when I started work. It's kind of been like starting from scratch and I felt kind of panicky about starting all over again! But with every interview it gets a tiny bit easier.

Woke up to a good news text message this morning. Pat's EAD card was ordered. I guess she can think about what she wants to do now and then try to find it.

Semi-off topic. Her stuff has still not arrived yet. Shipped the end of June and last word we had was about a month ago.. it was somewhere between Norfolk VA and Chicago

Off topic, the kitchen is nearly finished. They are installing the cabinets and appliances now.

:D Eee, grats you guys! It's a bit blah that her stuff hasn't arrived yet...I think I had mine done by AllFreight via air, so it got to me just a few days after I did. I hope that she gets it soon.

And :D Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! This is my first one, ever.

Pat contacted the shipper yesterday and they said they will bring it by tomorrow... gotta wonder if its been sitting in some local warehouse. Oh well, we'll never use Pickfords again for any move.

Happy Thanksgiving all! This is Pat's 2nd one here.. last year she was here visiting and meeting my family for the 1st time. We also started on our paper work for the K1 that trip... hard to believe we've come so far in a year.

Hi everybody. Hope you enjoyed Thanksgiving. I didn't have to cook... a first in years and years. We had a group of 8 at my daughter's house for late afternoon dinner and then Texas A&M Aggies vs Univ of Texas Longhorn football on TV. It's a 116 year old rivalry between the two biggest schools in the state. We're an Aggie family and it didn't come out in our favor. (The Aggies never lose, but they sometimes get outscored) It was a good game since UT is ranked #3 in the nation and their quarterback is in the running for the Heisman trophy (highest award in college football.) A&M played a good game against them.

Now it's time to decorate for Chistmas. :D I just have a few days, because I go back to the hospital for surgery next week. :(

So I would like to participate in decorating while I feel good. My shopping is pretty much done. I'm so much farther ahead of the game than I normally am.

I'm sure everything will be just fine, Nich. It's a good thing you got the Christmas good stuff done now though... were you one of the crazies that were up at 3am for Black Friday?

(Still nothing on the ol' AOS... just started week 10 since NOA, so hopefully hear something soon)

Hello-oo, crazy person here...

Good grief, I've seen some pretty large groups of lunatics, but it didn't compare to Wal-Mart this morning! I really needed some nice clothes for work (as I don't have any) and also needed to pick up some Christmas stuff, especially considering how careful Knight and I are trying to be with finances. People were absolutely mad for the first hour, and all the deals were gone quickly. I'm so tired, but most of the Christmas stuff is out of the way, and we still got some amazing deals on things :D.

Nich :D I'm glad to hear things are positive at the moment -- eee! Also, I'll be needing your address :P.

Your surgery will be fine :D I know it.

Hugs to all -- I'm going to curl up and pass out now.
