I'll let you 'google' that one Eric-Pris.

Been a while since i've been here, but congrats on all the approvals/arrivals of 'not so green' cards etc... :)

Magpie...sooo jealous, i love snow (though like everyone else i reckon after a few days i'll be wishing for summer)

Gemmie...sorry to hear about your trip :( I hope you still manage to make it somehow!

I'm still sitting here waiting for...anything really.

Am going to try and call today as its been 3 months since our application, no EAD, no AP and not even a whif of a bio appointment :(

Does anyone have any alternative number to call? or should i just go with the Customer service and see what happens?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated...starting to feel a tad ARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!

Thankies

Selina.

Congrats to everyone!! Everything's going so quickly which is great to see!

Emma, Bucks County, not too far from me. Looking like table games will be coming soon, Hubby's looking into going to school to become a dealer, start at $40,000.

Funny you mention this, there is an advert in the paper for a dealing academy!!! I have looked at nurse training, I did 7 years as a healthcare assistant which I think is the equivalent of a nurse aide here. Back home you didn't need a licence to do this but here you do, I'm looking at doing a course online so I can do medical admin and then maybe look at RN training later......

On another note I can't believe it's so close to xmas!!! Last year we had fun shopping and not worrying about buying presents as we both had jobs, this year I think I'll have to make them!!!!

Quick update! I has a job -- not the greatest (it's at Sears in the electronics department), only part-time, but they were very impressed with me, and I've got my foot in the door. I've been told that lots of promotion opportunities will come up if I keep my eyes open. It's something at least, and if I find something better, I can always change...I know Fred Meyer offers trainee managerial positions. In any case, I should be working "live" for Black Friday, and will be able to sell lots of stuff :D.

Hugs to everyone -- Nich, feel better <3.

A job for Magpie! Good news, Sunshine.

Thanks everybody wishing me to feel better. (F)

I am much better after getting off the antibiotics that were doing me in with side effects. And so now I'm not taking anything, including pain pills. I wish I could get my mojo back, but it's just not there yet. My doctor said I actually have a very serious condition and I look much better than I am.

Within the next few weeks I will have surgery to cut out the yukky part of my colon caused by the diverticulitis. If it gets as infected as mine, it never goes back to being or working normal, so they cut that piece out. Soooo-- not too much fun on our schedule for the holidays, but we do what we have to do. I could be having Thanksgiving Day ice chips instead of turkey. Not a problem, we just roll with the punches. They are supposed to let me know the date as soon as they can work out the schedule.

Congrats on the job, Magpie. :dancing:

Wow Nich, you must have the condition extremely bad if you have to have surgery. I thought my mum had it bad as she described pain worse than childbirth and had it every other day, and the most they did was give her pain-relief and fiber-gel sachets. Maybe that's a health care difference though between the UK and US. I hope everything goes well for you, let us know when you get the appointment so we can send you positive thoughts. Until then, relaxation for you!

ps - yesterday marked my 5 months in the US. Doesn't it go quickly? I feel like I haven't done anything for almost half a year (and I haven't).

HOOORAAAHHH!!!

On November 16, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I131 APPLICATION FOR USCIS TRAVEL DOCUMENT. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

Something at last :D

Nich-Nick

Thank you for helping me out, i can't tell you how much i appreciate it. I hope everything goes well health wise for you and you make a full recovery.

Nich, my mom had that EXACT surgery done on Nov. 3, and she is bouncing back like it was nothing! They took her appendix out while they were "in there" too, just because they could. She hasn't even filled her prescription for pain meds and she's been out of the hospital for a week. She said there was no way any post-operative pain could rival the pain she had during her abscess/diverticulitis episode, so it's been smooth sailing. I hope that your procedure goes as well!
