A friend of mine (male) insisted once that everyone who stays in his apartment has to sit down to urinate. He was quite serious about it - and made an issue of it not just to me, but to mutual friends of ours.

I suggested that when he visits my place that everyone must stand on the seat to take a #######.

I try to solve the problem by not inviting people to my house who will mess up my bathroom to begin with.

Sara's story reminds me of a great David Sedaris story where his mom and sister are really into solving mysteries while an undetermined member of the family has been using the bathroom towels to wipe his or her #######. Mom and sis attempt to solve the mystery of the poopy towels and argue over various TV detective show cliches.

Of course, it also kind of depends what kind of mess we are talking about here. Leaving poo on the toilet seat is a very big no no. Do that, and you are not going to be invited back. Same for peeing on the floor and/or walls. Sooooo not cool.

Leaving the towel on the vanity or your kleenex on the toilet tank or leaving splashes on the mirror after washing your hands I can just clean up later, no big deal.

I notice I am not the only one who jumped to the conclusion that the OP was talking about the former type of mess, I see.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I guess you could put some sort of electric grid on the floor around the toilet seat to encourage better aim.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Some people learn from what they read in books. Some people learn from the mistakes of others. Some people have to piss on the electric fence (or third subway rail) themselves.

I know I shouldn't laugh. It was probably very painful, and I'm sure it was horrifically embarrassing to explain that one to the doctors.

Depends how close you are to the friend. If it was my bff I'd just say..#######? you totally trashed my bathroom! clean up your mess (maybe even add I'm not your maid)! I'm pretty sure they'd say the same to me.

Someone I'm not so close to I'd probably let it slide the first time unless it was completely out of control.

I'm a bit of a cleaning/organizational nazi so watch out if you come over and mess up my bathroom! <_<

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.
