So shortly after getting the I-129F approved and NVC sending the approved petition to the Guangzhou China Consulate I was laid off of my job. So now I am collecting unemployment due to the downturn in the U.S. Economy. When my Fiance in China goes in for the interview shoud I provide her with information on how much income I am receiving from unemployment. I do receive more income than the poverty level from unemployment. She already has my previous job information with her. Can I receiving unemployment hurt our chances of getting the K1 visa approved when she goes in for the interview?

Also the approved I-129F petition was sent from NVC in early December 08 to the Guangzhou China Consulate and my fiance has repeatedly e-mailed them with the consulate saying it has not been received yet. The approval was only good for 4 months and now it expired. Anyone know why this takes so long? I guess we will have to file for an extension?

The Consulate will simply extend the validity of the petition without input from you. As for your affidavit of support and supporting documents, they say whatever they say. I take it she has them already. If not, you'll fill them out accurately and honestly. Your fiance should never lie when asked a question by a Consular officer or Immigration official. You may want to secure a co-sponsor as a safety net.

Yes. She already has the affidavit of support and the supporting documents with my previous job info from around early December 08.
