I-131 when is it needed? Are there additional fees when filing AOS?

Hello,

I am confused as to the amount of fees that I need to send in. My wiofe came here on a K1 visa. I am now filing the AOS I485 and all the froms mentioned in the guide. G325A, I864 and medical etc etc. So my question is--is the I-131 needed... I would like for us to be able to travel to Mexico in December... and go to the Philippines before she gets her green card. Is that what the I-131 allows? Also if I have seen two total fees for AOS $1,010 and about $1,300 is that because of the additional fee for I-131? Help!

The AP (131) is "free" if sent in conjunction with the AOS package, or with the NOA of the I-485.

$1010.00 is the usual fee for the complete package, read the guides above!

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

the $1010 includes AP, EAD, and AOS, but if you file it all together and send it all in together. advanced parole, permission to work, and the actual aos, or greencard are all included in thatprice, but send it together.

Interview Date : Dec. 18, 2008

APPROVED!!!!

Dec. 19, 2008- Alfredo comes home!

Jan. 5, 2009: Alfredo and I become husband and Wife

March 10, 2009 AOS paperwork sent, will wait for it to arrive via tracking #

March 12, 2009 AOS paperwork arrives in Chicago

March 23, 2009 NOA1 for I-485, I-131, I-765

March 30, 2009-Biometrics letter received, appt date April 10th @11am philly office

April 10, 2009-Biometrics appt. done, in and out in 15 minutes

Nov. 18, 2009-Card production ordered
