We have been living apart now for over 6 months and it's tough but when I come here and read that others have been living apart for.....YEARS, I have to stop complaning and just get through this. I am a little older than most of you and I have learned, the hard way, complaining about how things are never helps. I do it sometimes, but it usually makes me feel worse. I have filed at the VSC too.....I have noticed the times keep getting pushed back....complaining is just going to make us feel worse and make the time go by slower. IMHO - get busy doing something and quit dwelling on it. Just saying.....

03/26/09 : NOA1

09/23/09 : NOA2

11/13/09 : APPROVED and visa in hand!!!

My wife and I went through the process and all I can say is I never take for granted that she is here with me at the end of every day. We are still in "the process" having gone through the AOS for her and one son and now in the process of the K-2 to follow for the older son. For me it will be two years of living with the USCIS every day. And then starts the lifting of conditions. Gosh, I will be glad when I can put that box away but I was into again last night preparing for our next interview in June for our older son. And I would trade nothing for the wife and family I have. I guess I have little patience for impatience.

I could have blown out of this site when we got our visa, but after all the HELP I received here, I thought maybe I could "give back" a bit and try to do that for others. Of course I know how difficult it is to be away from someone you love, we all do. Unfortunately, for the OP of this thread, there is nothing I can give back to him and wry humor is not appreciated, so I will move on and try to help someone else. If you, the OP, need any specific questions answered that I can help with, let me know. No one can help with impatient rants.

I will only say that the time will come when your SO will be with you, other than in your dreams, and she will needs LOTS of your patience, LOTS. Much more than the USCIS demands, and I hope you will have it for her. But she will be with you every night and maybe that makes it easier.

Everyone I've seen post on here is right in his/her own way (although some are much friendlier in their responses). I too am frustrated at VSC's recent trend in timelines and have said so. It's venting. It might not do anything for the process, but getting the feelings out can relieve some of the tension.

What I don't think should happen is this issue dividing us. VJ is intended to bring us together. We shouldn't see ourselves divided into CSC groups, VSC groups, recent filers, old-timers, and the like. We all share the same experience, just from different angles.

Most threads make me smile. This one, well.....

I never would have believed my journey to happiness would begin with something called an "I-129F"

03/19/09 - I-129F Sent

03/20/09 - NOA1 (rec'd harcopy 3/26/09)

03/24/09 - Check cleared

03/25/09 - Touched

8/12/09 - Touched (4 hours before NOA2 email)

8/12/09 - NOA2 email received

***Received email at noon (Weds)

***USCIS site did update with the status

***Was 113 on Berkeley list; 156 on VJ list

I havent seen my guy for 2 years and 9days now and I miss him like crazy! Its been a long haul but we finally got there ... 11 more days and Ill be able to give my buby a huge smoochy hug thats whats kept us going knowing we had each other for support ... we never thought we would ever get here ... I admit it, Ive chucked tanties but it didnt get me far ... Ive been mad, Ive cried, Ive screamed and even thrown stuff in frustration ....

For all those waiting, hold in there you will get there ... try staying united and just be there for each other ... It seems like it will never happen but before you know it you'll be planning your weddings and your trips to be with your loved ones ...

Good luck everyone still waiting :D

If you read the following number you would actually be happy to get NOA2 withinn the 6 months:

http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRD

In total they have almost 2 million cases pending.

For a i129F they have 22656 pending. The plan to get them done within 6 months that means 188 per day (counting 120 working days in six months).

An agent may processes 4 per day. That means that they would need 47 people.

I have worked in a service center with that many people and it is really difficult to keep a tight control of what is done. YOu get 47 agents, of which 5% are top performers, 40% good agents, 50% just do the work and the remaining 5% just does not give a ....

So about 2-3 people of those 47 people do not give a ###### about what they do. That translates in 8- to 12 applications that get delayed and just stay on someone's desk for ages. If it the cases have been there too long eventually they go in the garbage unless the customers calls and complain the right way.

Moreover some of the good agents, may go on vacation, or quit. There could be downsizing. etc. But most important is that the current economic situation is against all of us.

Let say that out of those 22k 17k gets approved. That would mean 34k more immigrants a year. 34k more jobs that are taken away from americans.

Then you have to add the 55k from the green card lottery, and all the rest of the visas k3 etc etc.

At the moment this influx of immigrants may not be in the interest of the USA, therefore you may really see a slow down in approvals. I am also afraid that the system could change completely.

Therefore there maybe people getting approvals in 1 month, but I would say that most of all should feel lucky if we get it in the 6 months limit.

I am sure some of the agents know this site. If you complain too much they may push you behind even more :)

I just got a WII fit. So at least while a wait I get in shape :)

i think the hardest part for me is to know that someone gets to decide if i get to be with my angel or not, that same person can skip my file just because he/she doesn t like my face ...lol

it s like we have no control over the situation, and that is what is killing me inside, so the longer the waiting is, the hardest it gets...

i know it s hard for all of us, i also had to separate from my fiance to apply for the k1...and it s like half of my heart got taken away...and i dont complain, but everydayis a inner struggle....

i really do hope we get approve fast, but i do realize that there are so many applications and that the only thing i can do is wait....

let s just support each other and help each other thru this very difficult time, i am sorry to say but there are a few people here that are just plain cold and rude in almost every post...and most of us are allready stressed, or sad enough as it is, we dont need more negativity...

I feel soo bad for guys like you ... being apart is soo horrible but to be seperated is even worse ... I know what Shay and I went thru when he had to go home after 5.5 weeks I cant even begin to imagine how hard it would have been if we had been together for months or a year and then had to be seperated to do this ... Our saving grace was the daily calls and only because he works nights .. if he had worked days it would have been almost impossible because of the time differences...

I think a lot of people start getting nasty because they get sick of hearing the same thing over and over ... Its so unfair I had to wait 5minutes blah blah blah ... its hard for everyone, I know its worse for some because the usual 7 months becomes a year or more but its rarely them that complain but rather the people whose timelines show a month or two ... and its like OMG get over it! and you just know tomorrow its going to be something else and the day after something else again ....

The other thing that kind of bugs me is people who want to keep ringing and ringing ... everytime someone rings about some frivolous thing it holds things up, ya know ... and its like OMG look on the timeline and youll see that your waiting period is within the realms of normal ... Sheesh I was constantly stressed about how long it was between stages I wanted everything yesterday but I/we would look on the timeline and realise we were either on time or sometimes a little earlier then the suggested time .... The only time I became vocal about the delay was when I thought I had waited way longer then normal to get an interview time and when I looked at the consulate section I realised I had misread/misinterpreted what it acutally said and I did email at that point and got an interview date shortly after... but I dont think it had anything to do with the email, I think if I had let it go another few days I would have got that interview date regardless...

I'm happy for all the people at the CSC people who have had their I-129Fs approved in 30 some days, but honestly it's not fair that things are significantly slower at the VSC. Regardless of whatever the situation was a year ago, according to the VisaJourney statistics, VSC is now at least 2 months behind CSC and that disparity is continuing to grow. Everyone has the right to equal treatment and we all paid the same amount for the service.

It's clear that USCIS does not care about this disparity, so it's time to tell their boss that they're screwing up big time. I filed a report today with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of Inspector General and recommend you do the same, if you're in the same boat. The Inspector General is charged with investigating, among other things, cases of mismanagement at any of the agencies under the DHS, including USCIS. Who knows if anything will come of it, but the people answering the phone were a thousand times more responsive than those at USCIS. Maybe if enough people call who are fed up with the disparity between the VSC and the CSC, we'll see some balancing of the processing times.

The Office of Inspector General can be reached at (800)323-8603. You have to wait for a few minutes for information to be automatically given by a recorded voice, but follow the prompts to report a case of mismanagement and you'll actually get to talk to a human being. Then just explain to them the imbalance between processing times at VSC and CSC and you're done.

Good luck guys!

Life is not fair look at my timelines and mine is at CSC not approved in 30 days!

I filed our 129F petition with CSC several months before USCIS raised their fees in 2007. We were caught in an avalanche of petitions. As you can see from our time line, it took us longer than 30 days to get our NO2. At that time VSC

was cranking out NO2's in 30 to 40 days. Unfortunately, all we could do was wait. You will see that no matter what stage of the immigration process you are in, waiting is always a given.

I agree with this post. I also wonder why so much backlash for the guy who just wanted to vent and express his idea, no matter what you thought of it, on trying to improve his circumstances. No one seems to mind all the numerous threads of "OMG I got my NOA2 in 15 minutes" ... I was alays taught you keep your good fortunate to youself and your close friends. One can look at Igor's numbers and see the very fast approvals.

If you are tired of seeing threads of people venting about long wait times then you should also be tired of seeing threads about the quick approvals (of 1/2 of the process). Either you let people post both or post none.

You know those "approved in 2 days" posts bother me!! I waited 7 long months for my noa2 and it hurt to see so many approvals in short time...it still bugs me to see them cause i know it hurts others who are waiting...

Its not their fault they were approved quick...great for them, but it felt like they were flaunting it...feels like a slap in the face.

I'm sorry any of us have to go through this.
