I'm happy for all the people at the CSC people who have had their I-129Fs approved in 30 some days, but honestly it's not fair that things are significantly slower at the VSC. Regardless of whatever the situation was a year ago, according to the VisaJourney statistics, VSC is now at least 2 months behind CSC and that disparity is continuing to grow. Everyone has the right to equal treatment and we all paid the same amount for the service.

It's clear that USCIS does not care about this disparity, so it's time to tell their boss that they're screwing up big time. I filed a report today with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of Inspector General and recommend you do the same, if you're in the same boat. The Inspector General is charged with investigating, among other things, cases of mismanagement at any of the agencies under the DHS, including USCIS. Who knows if anything will come of it, but the people answering the phone were a thousand times more responsive than those at USCIS. Maybe if enough people call who are fed up with the disparity between the VSC and the CSC, we'll see some balancing of the processing times.

The Office of Inspector General can be reached at (800)323-8603. You have to wait for a few minutes for information to be automatically given by a recorded voice, but follow the prompts to report a case of mismanagement and you'll actually get to talk to a human being. Then just explain to them the imbalance between processing times at VSC and CSC and you're done.

Good luck guys!

Who said life is fair?

From what I saw during the timelines, CSC was the one way behind VSC.

Depends on the number of applications probably. In fact, they are shipping some petitions to CSC.

Good luck on your campaign!

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

Oh I agree, life isn't fair. But our government is supposed to be. It's probably unintentional, but it is discriminatory towards citizens who happen to have addresses closer to Vermont.

This graph will pretty much clarify the current situation: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...&page=times

But those graphs are generated from the timelines that people here input data for, they do not show everyone in the country applying, right?

According to the USCIS processing time - they have currently an additional 1,123,058 unripe preference relative petitions awaiting processing.

correct, VJ is a small percentage of all applicants. If we want to do whats fair, they should start working on cases of ppl who have been waiting for 6 months and beyond, some ppl have been waiting a year and a half. thats just wrong!

i was a CSC filer who waited a painful amount of time.

This process can cause lots of emotional pain and stress. We just need to be patient and be prepared for a long wait.

best wishes!

Just an idea but maybe the reason for CSC to be moving so fast is because they need to clear their backlog to take on part of the VSC load. AS which we are seeing them take on some of the load now. Its looked like for a while now that the VSC was starting to fall behind. So just maybe the CSC cleared some room to help out the VSC and that way the CSC wont fall behind by helping out. Either way you look at it neither one is falling behind the six month period but the VSC is getting close.

I don't think that would explain why so many people at CSC are now having their I-129fs processed in a month's time, while people who have waited long at the same center are still waiting.

As to the claim that VJ's statistics do not represent all people going through the two service centers, I agree, but unfortunately it might be a pretty representative sample. There's no reason why people going through the VSC would be any less likely to post their successes than the people going through the CSC; therefore, both could be taken as rough estimates of what's going on for the entire population of people going through the two centers.

Do you have a clue on how many thousands of complaints were filed against the 2 processing agencies especially VSC? And the results of the complaints, NO MUCH!!!! In 2007 they were over loaded with petitons 1.5 million more due to rates being raised.

Its just now they are getting on the track especially VSC. I remember in 2008, VSC was processing the "Honey Bunnies" petitions as soon as they came in and left the K3 and the CR-1 "the ones who already married and had families" to whistle dixie. Its a long, grueling, mentally emontional , exhausting process , even for one who is approved in 20 days or so. So sit down, hold on, its going to be a bumpy ride. You cant tell any goverment agency anything, especially to hurry up. Complaining only makes the wait worse. Start preparing for your next step of your journey. Nobody said it was going to be easy.

Truly happy!!!

Yes, yes, yes, and you had to march 6 miles through the snow to get to school everyday ... I like how it's all people who have been approved by the CSC who are like, dude, why don't you just chill out man?

Chill out man.. if your not happy with the answers you get then dont start these threads... This is I think the third or fourth thread youve started about this topic what are you expecting from VJ? On a similar thread when someone asked why their NOA2 was taking so long you wrote this

"I would say most likely you're being penalized (alright, at least unintentionally) for not having met your fiancee online and/or through a dating agency and/or within a couple months of proposing. Sadly, it seems our numbers are few."

I realize your upset and frustrated about this but do you really have to rain on everyone that has made it? Its only been two months for you and you knew you had a lot more than that to wait coming into this. Only now that the CSC is speeding their side up you cry foul. Do you really feel bad for everyone at the VSC or is this really just about you? Im sorry that a few of us have been lucky and your still waiting. But dont rip into the people here because you cant get everything you want. From the look of Igors's list the VSC is in the middle of December that means you have another month and a half well with in the 6 month time period. Good luck to you.

No I did not walk in the snow 6 miles to school, you need to walk in the shoes of the girl who applied for K1 visa 19 MONTHS ago at VSC and is still waiting. When I filed back in Jan. 2008 at VSC, I saw many K1 petitioners who filed months afte me get a

approval, interview, and entered the U.S. when my petition was still sitting on a dusty shelf along with many, many K3 and CR-1 petitions. Now that is heartbreaking. Petitions SHOULD all be processed in order of receipt, but we all know they are not, each center process differently. Just relax, your day will come when your not expecting it. And Im not a Dude, just a filer who walked many miles in a pair of shoes at VSC. and now Im lucky I filed again and at CSC. Do I expect a NOA 2 before the ink is dried on my NOA 1 ?, No. I wait just like everybody else. So you chill out, wait, and start working on next step of your journey, to make the rest of your ride with the embassy interview a smooth journey.

Truly happy!!!

Things change!

When I did my first K1 people {me also} were cussing CSC as VSC was whipping out K1s in a month. CSC was taking 6 months. Either the center of population moved or ???

Longer the better as maybe K1s will get to know their mates better and not end up dealing with the government again hoping their divorce goes thru quickier!!

I understand that you're unhappy with the wait you've had and the prospective wait ahead of you, but you've got to put things into perspective. You are wasting your time and effort (and probably someone else's time weeding through emails sent to the Inspector General) trying to change something thats not actually mismanagement.

USCIS is a terrible organization, to be sure, but this issue you're talking about is simply the inherent randomness of petitions submitted to two different workstations with time/number variables that are constantly changing. CSC is ahead sometimes, VSC is ahead sometimes. Just cross your fingers and hope you never actually have something to complain about (like Sara, for example, who has been waiting over a year and a half). Right now you're just wasting your breath.
