Hello VJ friends,

I do not plan to be there with my husband at the time of interview. So I was wondering if having copies of emails and chat transcripts really makes any difference to show proof of relationship? These are personal and I just don't feel comfortable with 3rd person reading them.

We got engaged while he was in California on B1 visa. He went back to India and we stayed engaged for a year before getting married. My husband plans to carry following with him during the interview time and I wanted to know if these material is sufficient or I should really print emails/chat transcripts.

Copy of hotel reservation, car rental, flight tickets, and original boarding pass for myself to California (I went to meet my then fiance after engagement)

Copy of flight tickets and original boarding passes to India (my marriage trip)

Copy of receipts of gifts I sent to my husband

Record of skype calls - paid

Record of skype calls - PC to PC

Photo album contain pictures of Engagement, California trip after engagement (just 1 photo), wedding, and honeymoon

Original Hotel receipts of the honeymoon (can't find other stuff)

Original ICICI Joint NRE Bank Account papers

Husband's Life insurance policy papers with me listed as beneficiary

Suggestions, comments, opinions... all welcomed...

We're including chat logs and emails but just screenprints showing daily communication. We are not printing the body of the emails/chats...I agree that is personal.

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Well...I think that is more than enough....One more thing u can do instead of printing all the emails individually, make screen shots of the email list in the inbox and get it printed...Make sure the date and times with the reciepents name are visible...

Good luck...

Champi,

What you have listed is more then enough. For my wife interview CO didnt ask for any e-mail/greetingcards/phone call record or anything. All they wanted to see was our wedding album, honeymoon pictures and all other ceremony pictues involved in marriage. But certainly all case is handle differently, but I am sure what you have listed is more then enough. One thing which I like to pointed out is make sure you tell your husband to carry wedding invitation card because sometime they do want to see the actual card instead of just marriage date verbally.

My side wedding invitation card was made in english due to immigration reasons, but my wife side wedding invitation was made in regional language(gujarati) so we had to translated into english.

translations are not needed at the embassy, at least they weren't in our case, as all the people working in the embassy are to read and speak the native language...our first time through NVC we had all of the documents translated and later found out that wasn't necessary...good luck

Hi Lars-N-Yenia,

The language that our invitations are is in local language (not the Indian National Language, which is Hindi). So wouldn't that mean I either get translated to Indian national language or to English?

Champi,

You dont need to translated because I am sure at chennai consulate they will have someone who speaks and read gujarati. I think you are fine, we just did it incase we have to send it at USCIS when we filed our petition. But it wasnt necessary.

to answer the original question, we brought all our phone records, ALOT of e-mails, gretting cards and 300+ pics...i don't know if it had anything to do with me attending the interview with my wife, but we were only asked for 5 pics...they didn't even want to see my passport to show i had visited her 7 times...all that wasted paper might have saved a few trees...lol...good luck
