Hi,

I sent in the 129F to the VSC about 7 weeks ago (early feb 09) but haven't gotten an NOA1 yet or a case tracking number? is this normal?

I'm in the same boat - submitted I-129F at the same time, also at VSC, and never received a NOA1. I called USCIS. They claimed that the letter was sent back in February, even though I never received anything. They claim it's my fault and that I should work it out with the post office. They're so useless it's mindboggling. Apparently there's "a policy" that they're not allowed to send out another one, so it seems I'll never receive a NOA1.

If you still don't know your case number though, I found out that if you go into your online bank transaction listings, there's probably a picture of the check you sent the VSC. If you look on the back, there should be a string of numbers, probably beginning with EAC. That'd be your case number that you can use to check on your case status at the USCIS site.

No. Do you have confirmation from the Post Office or UPS or FedEx that it was delivered? Was the check cashed?

ALWAYS send anything to the government by some sort of trackable delivery service, ALWAYS use a personal check so you can track payment and if the check is deposited. If you used a money order you can check with the issuer if the money order was deposited. It is more of a bother than just checking your account online though.

Your fault, their fault, anybody's fault...it is YOUR problem. Always be prepared. Send ALL documents, correspondence to any government agency for any reason by trackable delivery. Certified mail, UPS or FedEx. NEVER consider any other type of delivery. This is the same response you will receive from any governent agency at any level..."your problem, thank you, goodbye." They are NOT private business, they do not need to "produce" for a living, they confiscate money from you to pay for their business, PLUS charge "fees". They do not have competition, there is no one else you can go to for service. You are stuck with them no matter what and they know it. They do not care about "customer service" it is a complete oxymoron to say "government customer service" There is no benefit to the government in giving customer service, it is a loss for them to answer the phone, there is no possible benefit to them. Will you recommend the to friend's? They will make more money? No. They have no incentive to care, so you must prepare accordingly.

I had duplicate orignals of everything so I could whip out a new I-129f by merely stuffing it in an envelope. My fiancee signed TWO g-325s, TWO fiancee letters of intent, TWO original translations of the divorce certificate. Fortunately it is not difficult to be smarter than the average governent agency. If your case was returned for some error on your part, such as not including a check, not including the 129f document, some major "disqualifier" they will return the whole package to you and take their damn sweet time about it.

Make sure everything is in place, ALL documents are there, you SIGN the check and send it by verifiable delivery

For anyone who has not received a NOA 1 but was able to get receipt number form the back of their check, just go to Case Status on USCIS web site, and print out the NOA 1. Its the same as the NOA 1 they sent you. Basically USICS acknowledges they received your petition, cause your able to pull up your case on webiste.

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.
