I would confirm that they take a Priority Courier envelope (next day delivery) instead of an Xpresspost envelope.

To be honest - Xpresspost envelopes are pretty much the next day. When I was tracking my envelope, they put it in the mail on Friday and it was delivered on Monday. The waiting part is how long it takes them to actually put it in the mail.

Removing Conditions

Sent package to VSC - 8/12/11

NOA1 - 8/16/11

Biometrics - 9/14/11

Yes, I checked Canada Post's website and the Xpresspost is next day and the priority one is next day A.M. so it's a matter of a half a day difference.

Yeah if you are in a city of any decent size (sounds like you are with the ghetto reference), then it should be next day so spending more for the next level wont help. I had a monday interview and got mine the friday. I mentioned to the interviewer that we were getting married about three weeks after the interview and said that she would make sure I had the visa in time.

  • 7/7/08 -- I-129f sent
  • 7/9/08 -- I-129f received at CSC
  • 7/24/08 -- NOA1 (finally!)
  • 12/2/08 -- NOA2 (WOOT!!!!)
  • 12/8/08 -- received at NVC
  • 12/22/08 -- packet 3 (with packet 4 attachment instead of checklist :P)
  • 12/29/08 -- packet 3 sent back with bits and pieces that I pulled together to make up a packet 3
  • 1/5/09 -- actual packet 3 received, but found out by via e-mail that they were satisfied with what I had already provided
  • 2/10/09 -- found out via call to DoS that my interview is scheduled!
  • 3/16/09 -- interview!!!! APROVED!!!
  • 4/7/09 -- MOVE!!!!!!!!
Crossed at Detroit/Windsor Tunnel... pretty painless, about 45 minutes, inexperienced officer, asked for and received EA stamp
  • 4/13/09 -- Married in New Orleans!!!!!!!!
  • 5/30/09 -- Filed AOS/AP/EAD
  • 6/1/09 -- AOS etc received in Chicago

I started another thread about me passing my interview on Wednesday (4/15) and I wanted to know when will my visa arrive because the officer said 2 weeks and it seemed much faster...from reading this thread.

Any of you who have recently been approved for CR-1 in Montreal --- please share your date timeline from interview to receiving visa! Thanks!!!
