My fiance is driving up as soon as my visa is done.

I am just trying to see how reasonable it is to have my visa within 1 week. My appt is on Friday, April 17th and I am hoping to leave the next weekend thus, have it in my hot little hands by the following Friday :D

Could all those who have had their interview, and already had their visas returned to them post how long it took. Maybe even also inform us of where they are located - ballpark of course ;)

Thanks!

I see that you are dealing with Montreal? I'm not sure how long it takes there, but my Fiance had his interview yesterday (Tuesday) in Vancouver, medical today, picked up results at 2 PM, dropped off the results at the Vancouver consulate about 10 minutes later, and they already had his visa done in his passport. We were a bit surprised because we though we'd have to go back tomorrow to pick it up!

We had our interview on Wednesday March 18 and had the package delivered on Monday March 23rd, but I wasn't home, so I picked it up the next day :)

I've seen it take as long as 2 weeks, but that was a few months ago at least.

Removing Conditions

Sent package to VSC - 8/12/11

NOA1 - 8/16/11

Biometrics - 9/14/11

It could be touch and go....

No harm in asking them if you can pick it up the next day because you have plans to leave the country immediately.

Ohhh that sounds interesting. I wonder how much they are.

Stupid question, do we buy these envelopes at Canada Post?? And technically, we decide which envelope to give to them to send our passport back correct? Actually, I read somewhere that is has to be an envelope that requires a signature.

Either way, do we buy them at Canada Post?

Yes, at any Canada Post location. You don't decide the envelope, the size is on the instructions sent by Montreal. If you get the wrong size it can be refused. The signature option is your choice, but a good choice to make due to the importance of whats inside.

I havent checked to see what sizes they offer in the next day AM delivery, that requires signature but you would think that they would come in a variety of sizes... I just went to the canada post website to see what different delivery options they had for their mailers... they also listed 2 day mailers... I'm just going to look for the fastest delivery in the correct size that also is for use in Montreal to Ontario.

How about a Shoppers Drug Mart post office thingy? Anyone get the envelope there? I hate our local post office... It's so ghetto and there's nowhere safe to park

Yes!! I got mine at Shoppers. It is Canada Post, just inside Shoppers.
