Alright, I don't think anyone will mind, but I'm... kinda bumping this thread. Sorry.

First, Steph -- I am truly sorry for the horrible news. Please accept my most sincere of condolences for what has happened. One day, the two of you will be reunited, but for now, I pray that you will somehow find enough comfort to get through each day. I'm thinking of you, Chris and his family.

Secondly -- I would be more than willing to do whatever it takes to help Sara get the NOA2 that she desperately deserves. However.. an online petition is not going to work. It's not that I'm a pessimist and I'm not trying to shoot down anyone's ideas, but.. because the signatures are not tangible, there's no way to prove that each "signature" came from a different person. One person could just write in different names 500 times and say "Hey, look at all these signatures I got on my petition."

If you want to send in a petition, you're going to have to collect real signatures.

One way that I can think of to somewhat accomplish this is to have someone volunteer to create an opening statement [much like the one Steph initially crafted] and offer up their address so that people can send in letters, offering support of the initial statement [or just with their signature, saying that they agree to it, or whatever -- People can even collect signatures from others around them]. From there, that person can forward the package to a media network, to USCIS, or whoever we had in mind.

It seems like a lot of work, but I think that's entirely doable, and at least there will be more of an air of legitimacy to it. The only problem is ensuring that people send in their letters in a timely manner to make sure that there's enough to really make an impact.

But I don't know. Maybe we could come up with something better? :/

The only doom that's looming is you loving me to death,

So I'll give you a sec to catch your breath.

yes. or we each send in our own letters, we can use one draft or own our and flood them with hundreds of letters. Lets get a couple more opinions on this and get it underway!

Anyone know where we should send them? is uscis a good bet? i wouldnt know what media to send it to.

Maybe letters are the best way. I'm sure people would help? Maybe Sara could use a mailing address so we could all send a letter with signatures directly to her? It doesn't have to be your home address Sara..Maybe if you have a PO BOX?

Then she could sent them all to the Media / Senators :star:

We could use Steph's original opening letter?

i live in a town of six hundred people lol so it would have to be my home address but just a thought dont the letters have to have our receipt number and both of our full names on them?

Well, I wouldn't publicly post your address on the forum. Perhaps people who are interested can PM you their email address, and you can send a mass mail with your address or something? I would suggest PMing them back, but that's a lot of individual PMs to send just to copy/paste the same thing.

Just my 2 cents, but seems to me that in order to make the impression/impact we want, the timing is important. Rather than a lot trickling into UCIS, it'd be more impressive if they got hit with them all at once, or at least the total number at once. To do that, one person would need to send them in and that presents the above problems.

The only other way I can see doing it would be to use the media. Even if all our correspondence didn't hit at once, they'd track the numbers and be able to present it to UCIS that way. Additionally, they could contact Sara who could provide them the needed info, without publicizing it here.

Again, just my thoughts. Any idea which media to use close to home, but with enough interest to want to take this "public interest" story and run with it?

I never would have believed my journey to happiness would begin with something called an "I-129F"

03/19/09 - I-129F Sent

03/20/09 - NOA1 (rec'd harcopy 3/26/09)

03/24/09 - Check cleared

03/25/09 - Touched

8/12/09 - Touched (4 hours before NOA2 email)

8/12/09 - NOA2 email received

***Received email at noon (Weds)

***USCIS site did update with the status

***Was 113 on Berkeley list; 156 on VJ list

Hi folks, sorry i've not been around.

Steph, so very sorry for your tragic loss. My heart goes out to you.

Sara, I definately don't think you should be posting your home address to anyone. I have put all of the information/documents into pdf form and can electronically send it off to as many senator's...etc as possible. I can also set up a website on my server and collect digial signatures although, i'm unsure as to what else we can do with them from there. A petition is a good idea but i'm not real sure how benefitial it will be. Perhaps we can set up a website where folks can download pdf version of a letter that they can then send to any politician and/or media outlet they can think of. It only takes one loud enough mouth. ;)

Even though there are a lot of us here, our tax dollars do not pay immigration costs therefore, we don't have a very large voice. Getting the injustice to the media may very well lead to 'someone' finally doing something. All we can do is be a larger voice for the injustice that we see happening to Sara.

I think the message we need to get across most is that while we understand the US must protect it's borders and do these security checks, it's inconceivable that it would take almost two years for tihs couple to get an answer to their I-129f and even more unfair that they haven't had a clear answer on the status of their case from anyone they've dealt with in all the time they've been waiting.

We can only hope that this will help them to finally move forward...but also that it will stop it from happening to anyone else.
