Timeline

I read the Red Tent a long time ago and really enjoyed it. It's definitely a woman's book though. Same for the Time Traveller's Wife.

I can't see many men enjoying those if they take part.

You are probably right about that. But, I know a few men that secretly read romance novels.

I voted for A Thousand Splendid Suns as it was one of the most moving books that I've read in a long time and I think the only one that actually made me cry. Not an easy read in a sense that it deals with some horrific realities but beautify written...

OKAY!! A Thousand Splendid Suns is the choice and I have to say - WOW!! 20 people voted. I hope everyone that voted will still read the choice, even if it wasn't the one that they wanted.

I have reading group topics for us once we are really into the book. Let's give everyone that has to order it a chance to get it in - I have to get to the bookstore myself....

I will create a new topic thread for us to post comments in as we go along. Thanks guys and I really look forward to getting to know all of you better as we read.
