I just tried calling USCIS- the woman refused to escalate the call to an immigration officer and said that they can't do that until I have been waiting 7 months - GRRR! The last date of action on my file is May 4th - not even information about biometrics. I need to make an Infopass appointment if I want to speak to someone who actually knows anything. I 'thanked' her for lack of assistance.

Kath.. call them, tell them you applied in april and u haven't received any notice, tell them u don't have a receipt number or anything, they r required to transfer you to a second level IO at this point.. don't tell them anything else.. i know it's a lie but it works every time, when they transfer u to the second level officer (which has no idea what u r calling about) explain to them your ordeal and they will ask u about A#, receipt number etc and will tell you exactly where u stand...I'm on vacation and since i can't check my mails recently, this was the only way to check what the status of my application was... trust me it works everytime.. i was frustrated with the first level help desk people when i tried to explain to them that i was on vacation and that i couldn't check my mailbox, they would they tell me they cant do nothing about it, this was the only way they would let me through.. when i talked to the second level officer and explain to him that i can't check my mailbox, he actually encouraged me to call every week or so to see if there is any update... and today finally i received an actual interview date...we pays 675$ for this application for naturalization and if we deem or feel like our applications are being delayed.. we should be able to find answers.. it is my belief that the first people u talk to are just contractors who read like robots from a script and will not let u through if your reasons don't conform to a script... good luck

Thank you! I will give that a try - except now I will have to wait until Monday since tomorrow is a holiday for them. Yes, the first level people are only contract call center staff and worse than useless.

Does anyone know if you have to pay for Biometrics when applying for N400 under section 319B from overseas?

April 10 -Filed N400 with 2 sets of fingerprints, they where done at a US Base in Germany.

April 15 - Got an I-797C stating that I need to pay $80 for my biometrics - so I did.

April 25 - Received a receipt - I-797C for the $80, stating the next step would be to to wait for a Notice to go for Biometrics.

The next letter I got was a YELLOW Case File Review Notice telling me what I need to bring to my interview - letter received on 4/27/2009. Its been 2 months and I haven't had any other correspondence.

Has anyone had this happen to them? What happens to the fingerprints I sent them in the package???

Thank you Better later than never! The April filers seem to be breezing through compared to people who filed, say, last year! USCIS is doing something right!

My IO wanted the 2 extra ones signed. Again, I had the impression she had not looked at my file until 2 min before she called me. Good luck and better safe than sorry.
