Went for my interview today, scheduled at 10:10am but waited about 1.5hrs to be called. The interview took all of 15min and was really a breeze. The only downside is that the interview was scheduled 8 days before my 5th year mark so couldn't do same day oath and will have to wait. Otherwise all of you out there don't be jittery or unnerved - this thing is easy - they asked me to read "What do we pay to the goverment" (and it was like font 36) :jest: and then the writing section was to write "we pay taxes" - the civics questions : - one state that borders Canada, how many senators are there, when was the constitution written - that pretty much sums it up.

Cool. Thanks for the clarification.

I hope they dont ask me to do the same day oath ceremony - I would have to decline that as I will be leaving out of the country 2 days later & I need my Green card to enter back.

I had the craziest week myself, my labor got incuded on Friday night, it took 18 hours and I had my little daughter on Saturday at 6pm, all went well, got out of the hospital on Monday morning, which was quite something, had to keep telling people I needed to be out by 9am to make it to my interview!!

I went home, left my baby with my parents and hauled downtown with my husband, the interview was so easy, no need to be worried at all, I waited a few minutes, we went over my application, added my daughter under the children section and then I had to read and write someting like George Washington was our first president. Then I got asked the civics questions, I think it was how many voting members in the House, The question about John Roberst in the Supreme Court, which ocean onthe East coast, and three more, I can't remember, I was having a hard time not falling asleep since I hadn't had any real sleep for days with the birth and the new baby. It was super easy, nothing to worry about, got the letter that I am recommended for citizenship and was told to wait for the oath letter now.

Does anybody know how to find out where the oath ceremony will be held and what the upcoming dates are for San Francisco?

I would like to estimate how long it'll be...

Thanks to all of you, anci78 congrats on the birth of your baby girl and your successful interview - must have been a double whammy!! Only thing is that you won't be getting any real sleep for several months now but it is always a labor of love (I know this coz i have a 5 month old daughter) :mellow: and to the earlier question - I still have my GC with me - to be surrendered when oathing
