I wish I knew that before! I thought we HAD to. Not that I had anything to hide on my work computer, but still I don't like other people's germy fingers on my keyboard!

Well my problem with it is..anything could happen. What if a co-worker of yours has your password and looks at nude photos online? It's under your username!!

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

I think we've all seen enough examples of people being petty as well as coniving. Would it shock anyone to read a story about a co-worker destroying documents and other work-product to spite someone, or to just passive aggressive behavior to get ahead? We have shared drives here where I work to avoid the conflict of having to share passwords or anything.

Wow Amanda - hope the security breach of your boss asking for your passwords worked out. Did you report her? I hope?

I've never heard of a company which would be ok with sharing passwords. And you ar4e exactly right - they could do anything while under the guise of your id! The current company I work, as well a the last one, would have considered it a fireable offense if you share passwords. YIKES!

Think about it - why have passwords at all if they're going to be shared :)

We DO have a shared drive! She wants access to "my documents". I have told her nothing is on there that's not on the net drive.

The AVP agreed. :)

So for once we can say that common sense and good judgement has worked out. Who woulda thunk it?

 Keep on taking those skittles..I certainly would!

I hate Skittles! I remember getting them when I was a little kid and originally thinking they were M&M's. The only thing worse is putting raisins in cookies instead of chocolate chips.

Then I would be curious as to what kind of p0rn they were looking at? And why would you look at p0rn at the office???

The only story I know of is the CFO of Mesa Airlines was looking at p0rn at the office and some was saved on his hard drive. Well wouldn't you know they got into a lawsuit and he is laptop was subpoenaed. He tried to delete the p0rn. The forensics team noticed the problem. The CFO was then fired.

Nice!

The events planner.

She is dense. This is the one who talks with the fake accent.

A member came in this morning and asked if the library was being used and I said no. So he went in and started doing some work. Then he got up and said he was going for lunch and said he would return.

The events planner has an appointment and says she'll be in the library and I told her about the member using it.

She asked if he booked it. I said technically no but he is using it right now and he will return. She looks at me and with the most snooty tone she says: "Tell him its booked" and her clients and her start laughing and walk in. Don't laugh at me as if I am a moron. I probably understand her job more than she herself understands it. I used to do exactly what she does and I would never do what she just did.

Members come first. She could take her appointment with the non-members anywhere else in the building. Members have access and are allowed to use any room they want as long as its not booked. Well the room wasn't booked so the member walked in and was using it.

All of his stuff is in there too. Classy move. Now you'll look like a moron when the member comes back in and is upset that you (an employee) are sitting there amongst his stuff with a couple of non-members.

There are many other places to hold a meeting.

Donne moi une poptart!

A fake accent? What accent is she using? Is she actually trying to pretend that she's originally from another country?

Sorry, but that is an irrational peeve of mine. It irritates me to no end when I hear people faking an accent. "Ohh, I must have picked it up whilst traveling in England last month". Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow are the worst perpetrators.

####! In that case the members always come first...who is paying her salary after all!

I think that's different.... they both live or lived there in the past for years. Probably after a few years you could pick up an accent. Yes it's dumb to fake an accent but in their case, living there it's possible I think.

When my wife and I visited Craigdarroch Castle last weekend in Victoria, I spent the whole day speaking with a terrible Scottish accent. :P
