Thats like my boss at the hotel Canada, she used to pee with the door open.

Yep we'd walk into the bathroom and she'd pee with the door open and talk to you. Awkward!

Nevada..that is so...ah..where is people's lack of consideration. You don't pee with the door open in public. I'm all about being open and honest but..that's going too far at work

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

I've always thought that public toilets are....weird.

Who designs the things and who thinks that anyone really wants to use the facilities in 'public' - with the gaps around the doors - that look more like horse stalls - and big gaps all over the place.

I mean in your bathroom at home you have a door that fits and there is a sense of privacy - for some reason someone decided if you were out with a bunch of strangers it would be a grand free for all with no privacy.

But when you gotta go, you gotta go.

My friend went to study in Italy for a year and she was telling me about the toilets there, some are just holes in the ground, a ceramic basin with a hole basically, no stalls. She was on a tour and decided to go in and use one and she was squating over it and some lady walked right in on her.

I wish you could all see her tell the story because she is SO animated when she tells it.

"And there I was squating over this hole and some old lady walks in and she sees it ALL"

She figured she'd have time to just run in and run out and no one would see her.

I know! I like my private moments to remain private.

In England they have floor-to-ceiling walls with real doors in more than the average number of public washrooms. I've seen it randomly here in North America. Usually in upscale establishments.

many places throughout the world, you just go into a stall with no doors, and squat away into a hole!! And people always laughed when i said we would search out N.American style restarurants---we knew that they normally had "normal" bathroom stalls, lol

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Gotta add the story of my daughter and the loo in Venice. We were discussing the facilities at this one place we went to and how to appropriately "go" in that situation. My daughter said she employed the "ski" method.... whereby she got herself into position by reaching out and holding onto the doorknob with both hands and pretended she was waterskiing.

 Keep on taking those skittles..I certainly would!

So I'm going on Vacation tomorrow for a week and my boss asked me for all my passwords to my computer. I objected and said I was highly uncomfortable with that situation. So I had to talk to the VP this morning and tell him I'm not giving her my passwords because she is nosey, she snoops and I have heard of multiple accounts when I'm not here she sits at my desk and works. She goes through my files and takes stuff wtihout putting it back.

Once she even was at my desk and got a nosebleed all over it. AH SO DISGUSTING. She bled on a couple of my pens and you know what she said? "Oh, I will just go wash them off..." instead of throwing them out.

I got a text off my co worker telling me about it and that when my boss was gone, she threw out the pens and sanitized my desk.

Also, how would you guys feel about this...so yesterday I'm in the bathroom and I'm washing my hands. (preventing swine flu) and my boss walks in and we both say hello to each other. She gets in the stall and let's out the longest and loudest fart. Now, I know it's a bathroom and all but I mean, we made eye contact and said hello and I was so there! She was not embarrassed in the least and after she came out, acted like nothing happened. Come on! Is that funny or what?

Actually it was the opposite at my old job, my boss MADE us write our passwords on a sticky note and put it on our desk... also the password for the phone.... her claim was that if we called in sick she needed to change our e-mail out of office and voice message.... One time someone didn't leave their password and they got in trouble.... they tried to say it was private but the company said it's a company computer and their property, etc.

Yeah some fancier places have a full door that goes from top to bottom. But I always wonder, if I got locked in I wouldn't be able to crawl out the bottom

####### company. Password sharing's a huge no-go. There are workarounds. And now I will shut my mouth as a former IT department manager.

I wish I knew that before! I thought we HAD to. Not that I had anything to hide on my work computer, but still I don't like other people's germy fingers on my keyboard!

There are some definite bathroom faux pas going on. There is to be NO talking in the bathroom when either party has any part of their clothing undone. I have a friend who has to use the bathroom on a whole other floor than he works just to avoid a supervisor who likes to chat while people take a dump. I absolutely hate hearing someone else blow ####. I can understand if its a huge bathroom at a large venue like a casino or at a stadium. But at work where there is probably only 1 or 2 stalls? Come on, you can hold it a few more seconds. Nobody needs to hear that.
