Well the "mean lady" brought me back something from her vacation in Florida. A tin of candy that looks like a florida license plate and says: "#1 Mom" on it.

I took it as a peace offering... :P

hoping that we can move on a positive direction.

Unless she poisoned them... if she did..

Amanda can have my macbook. :P

LoL, well, the lady who came here earlier to visit aparently greatly overestimated how much people liked her. There are three women hiding out from her upstairs. She only left a short while ago. It's really sad because she isn't retired, and today isnt' a holiday. So she had to have been on a vacation day. Thats just sad.

I'll just throw this in here since it is about employers/working etc.

So I have mentioned before that my BIL is working in Hawaii - however he is leaving today and is done there.

He has been flying back and forth there since around December - because my nephew had spinal surgery and needed to finish school - so they couldn't join him yet. Plus they needed to document their dog's rabies vaccinations etc, to avoid quarantine. They were planning on moving in June and the owner of the business encouraged my BIL to start bringing stuff over and storing it at the owner's house (they weren't going to move all their stuff - so this was helpful).

When he discussed his employment he was very very clear that he was not interested unless they were SURE this was not some seasonal thing. That it was long term as it would mean uprooting themselves etc. No problem at all.

Two weeks ago they asked him if it would be possible for them to move sooner.

Well today they tell him that they didn't get some contract they were hoping for and they cannot afford to keep him. In the course of the very brief conversation my BIL had with the owner he told him that and how expensive it is to relocate the family etc. and with the downturn in the economy - whatever

What an a$$

I think I have just become that annoying co-worker. Well, at least for today. This lady in my department has been out for a week. She's quite often sick with random and fictional ailments. I pass her cubicle probably 2 dozen times each day and she just happens to have a big bowl of skittles on her desk. I noticed today on her first day back in over a week that they are mostly gone. She's been complaining all day that people are disrespecting her and violating her rights as an employee. Blah blah blah.... I just took another handful

 Keep on taking those skittles..I certainly would!

So I'm going on Vacation tomorrow for a week and my boss asked me for all my passwords to my computer. I objected and said I was highly uncomfortable with that situation. So I had to talk to the VP this morning and tell him I'm not giving her my passwords because she is nosey, she snoops and I have heard of multiple accounts when I'm not here she sits at my desk and works. She goes through my files and takes stuff wtihout putting it back.

Once she even was at my desk and got a nosebleed all over it. AH SO DISGUSTING. She bled on a couple of my pens and you know what she said? "Oh, I will just go wash them off..." instead of throwing them out.

I got a text off my co worker telling me about it and that when my boss was gone, she threw out the pens and sanitized my desk.

Also, how would you guys feel about this...so yesterday I'm in the bathroom and I'm washing my hands. (preventing swine flu) and my boss walks in and we both say hello to each other. She gets in the stall and let's out the longest and loudest fart. Now, I know it's a bathroom and all but I mean, we made eye contact and said hello and I was so there! She was not embarrassed in the least and after she came out, acted like nothing happened. Come on! Is that funny or what?

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Giving out passwords is a huge no-no in any situation. If there are documents your boss needs access to then she should arrange for a shared directory. If she requires access to programs or utilities then she needs to have her own account set up. I would absolutely hands-down refuse a request such as this. She sounds like a real winner. lol

Have a great time on vacation, Amanda!

There is no shame in her game!

Oh and then after that she didn't wash her hands. Yup! And every one wonders why I wash my hands with soap, water AND Germ-X constantly.

And I agree, Krikit. I don't like giving passwords at all!
