Attaya-Girl, I was checking the DHL website and noticed a package left for Senegal on July 31st arrived in Senegal this morning. 9250708504 <--- tracking number. Could just be a coincidence but seems unlikely considering how few petitions come out of Senegal.

Thanks Danu, and all re: the dress.

SS, I LOVE that dress that Jenelyn picked out! So cute, and beautiful! I like the short ones. :)

I wish there was a David's Bridal near me, but I don't think so. If there is, it's in Toronto, which is a 2 hour drive away. Not too bad, but far enough. I don't buy many things online, and have come to realize that I reeeeally need to try stuff on before I decide if I like it. I'm jealous of the David's Bridal deals! My dress is still pretty cheap, but a slight bit over my budget. Are you guys getting any alterations done, and if so, how much do you expect it will cost?

Back to NOA2.... for the support financial documents that are needed for the next steps... how long has it taken for you guys to get them in? My fiance hasn't got his yet, and I'm a bit concerned.

My dress at DB cost me $450, I am sure that DaVinci dress would have been over $1000! Its the same style! I saw it in a wedding magazine after I had bought it from DB and was glad I did, it said compare to DB style, sorry but im happy with my DB dress! LOL!

I'm not honestly sure how much I will be charged, my mother is paying for it along with the alterations to my sister's bridesmaid dress. My seamstress whom we have been going to for years is an older lady who also makes wedding dresses. The last time I saw her was for my grad dress. I'm sure she won't be over $100.

I'll have to check! That would be weird, though, because I called them on Friday and they hadn't received it yet. I also really need to change Lamine's address with them, so I almost hope that it hasn't left quite yet....

Wedding rings-haven't gone shopping for those yet. Will probably get plain bands for both of us, though.

just called NVC, and they still haven't received our case.....

As far as alterations go- I will definitely need any dress I get to be hemmed up. I'm not super short, but just short enough, apparently. The only dress that I found that fit was in a petite size and not all dress lines seem to carry those.

I just saw your question about the financial documents. It only took me a week to get my tax transcripts (free from the IRS), but it took my parents 2 weeks (who are probably co-sponsoring me for good measure). The letter from the bank might take the longest. I got mine quickly, but I just changed banks, so there wasn't that much history. If he starts gathering it now, you should be fine. By the time it gets to NVC, leaves NVC, etc, you'll probably have a couple weeks after NOA2 before he gets package 3.

Gold, silver, platinum? Platinum is all the rage in China these days for wedding rings. I like this site, GREEN WEDDING GUIDE: Eco Wedding Rings (conflict free gems and recycled metal):

I think this is a very cool band style ring. It has a binary code engraving like a secret message!

re: alterations, you have to be a bit careful. Sometimes they can be cheep but other times people have said they paid around the same amount for alterations as they did for the whole dress (this was in the 4-600 range). I guess it just depends on the dress size thats ordered and what needs to be fixed. I have a bit of an extreme shape so hopefully the one I end up ordering doesn't cost an arm and a leg to get tailored properly

NVC out!

I wonder if it's okay to fax the DS-230/checklist before I receive the packet 3.

I feel a really good week coming on, lots of NOA2's and NVC Outs!!!

Does anyone else hate weekends? I was thinking about that yesturday I used to look forward to them but now all a weekend means is that none of the immigration wheels can turn.

I hate weekends for that reason, but I also have to work all weekend long and never get any off
