I can't wait to see the wed pics from all of you. Our Chinese ones should be done within the month (cross my fingers). We are doing the ones in China early because the cost is so much less and the costumes are so much better. The USA ones will be done after our show here (I have decided to go full Scottish regalia in the USA; I think she will go trad US white wedding, switching to the Chinese red for the reception - but she may change her mind... go figure).

All the dresses are BEAUTIFUL! Ashenflowers-I Love your dress! I know I said that earlier, but you're getting married on the beach, right? It's so perfect!

SS and Allie and ashenflowers and ken and everyone else still waiting-I hope that your NOA2's come soon, soon, soon and that the rest of the process goes smoothly and quickly!

Allie-That's so sweet that Nigel sent you that package! I love getting mail :)

As far as dresses go, I would love to get the dress I posted earlier, but I just had a total breakdown over finances the other day and couldn't justify it. I don't know. I want to have a beautiful dress, but this whole process has just cemented the fact that I'm excited to get married to Lamine-not just to get married. The wedding planning is fun and definitely takes my mind off the hurry up and wait process, but it's a good reminder all the same.

Oh-if all goes even half-way well as far as the rest of the process goes, I realized that I will be back in Senegal during the month of Ramadan-an Islamic 30 day religous observation. It's a beautiful, but really solemn month and Lamine and I realized that we will not be able to do any form of engagement celebration during that time. :( We'll have to wait for the next time we visit-which will probably be in about two year until removal of conditions. I was really hoping this was one thing we could do for his family before he leaves, but we'll see. It just sucks because none of them will ever qualify for a visitor visa to come to our wedding here. We can send them video footage, but it's not the same....I wish there was a way that our families could celebrate together.

LOL... You are good at the jumping up and down thing!

Yay! "pressies" (as they say). My recent packet (our Affadavit of Support) took a week. The mail is so up-and-down between the two countries.

Hopefully, a good week is in the works!

Attaya, go get yourself a 99.00 Davids Bridal dress like I did...they have decent dresses under 200 and your probably tall and skinny so you will look good in anything! Go to one of their shops and try on some so you get the idea of sizes and styles however their size chart they put online is quite accurate....i wish I listened to it when i bought mine cause its a bit tight but not enough to make a difference but theirs is good and you dont break the bank buying one for just wearing for one day...and still nice enough to keep as a keepsake....

Allie-have you posted a picture of yourself in your dress yet? If not, I think you should :) From your picture, I bet you're stunning in your dress. Oh-and I'm definitely NOT tall-will have to get anything hemmed up, but I'll check out their $99.00 sale. That sounds like the answer to my freak out session that is currently under way.

So, has anyone here watched "The Office"? Cause it's amazing. Just sayin'.

Lisa-what part of England is your fiance from? I spent a summer working on a farm in Herefordshire (a tiny town called Ledbury) and absolutely loved it. Just like a fairytale :) Even if I was milking cows and collecting eggs the whole time

This has absolutely nothing to do with the current topic, but all I can think about is the posting of the twinkie wedding cake that was posted way back when and how much I want something ridiculous and sweet and bad for me (that is made by sara lee or whoever it is that makes twinkies).

What kind of ring are we guys going to get from you girls? Ya know, we get a ring too, right? What are you going to get your guy?

My ex-wife bought me a braided white gold wedding band that I will have melted down, and redesigned. For Leidys, I plan on buying her something nice in Bogotá - when I am there for our interview. Because she has very little money, I am not going to make a big deal out of this. I only want her happy, and for us to share a long, happy life together.

My question was for the women here. You are going to melt down your prior wedding ring for this marriage? Is Leidys cool with that? Maybe wait until she can get you a ring later. I did that with my prior marriage. Makes it more binding if you know what I mean. Do you think she will feel that your old marriage is on your finger and not the one she has with you?
