Oh! more exciting-ish things :)

To keep the anxiety/depression away, I've started buying Lamine things to make him feel at home here. Today I bought us new tooth brushes, I bought him a new razor, long underwear for the cold winters :P , and a warm hat. Having some this stuff around helps me realize that he really will be here soon.

I've been doing that, too, although the advantage of coming from England is having cold weather gear. :)

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH.........when's mine coming!

Ok rant done. lol. Have a good day everyone! Crossing my fingers today..............

Maybe the same turtle delivering my packet to NVC is also bringing your NOA2. I hope it comes soon! Has Nigel applied for his police certificate? Ian's has taken two weeks to show up (and still hasn't).

chris and tonya- sorry about the RFE, but as soon as you send everything in, you're almost certainly going to get approved soon. :) Good luck!

ashenflowers-I might trade the snow for the beach :P California is so wonderful that way, though--you have the best of everything. One day, you can be sitting on a sun-soaked beach, and before you know it, you could be hiking through snow-covered mountains. You'll have so much fun!

Lisa-I hope Ian's police certificate comes soon. How long is the waiting time for an interview in England? I think I'm going to call NVC again today just to check. Lisa, hope yours gets there soon (i.e. today)

Oh, and Allie--I bet you are NOT going to get an RFE. Approvals are coming soon!

Sorry, just didnt get round to updating my timeline. NVC received ours on the morning of the 28th.

Yay, yay, yay!

I thought after it left the NVC my obsessive tracking days would be over but I found this in a different forum and thought I'd repost for anyone who didn't know that the fun won't be over yet! Just for fun I did the whole DHL thing and something left yesturday for Vancouver, I'm letting myself believe that by some twist of fate it was mine and its just not in the NVC computer properly.

1) 2 days after NOA2, starting calling NVC: 603-334-0700 press 1 then 5.

2) Once NVC has your case, they assign a new case #. Ask them what date they sent your file to the embassy & also for the NVC case #.

3) Once you know the date NVC sent off the file, track it at DHL's website: http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByRef.asp?nav=TrackByRef For the reference code, enter EXP 10 JUL 2009A (adjust using dates just before the date NVC told you), with a shipping range of that day to a few days later (July 13 - July 14 worked for the example above). Look for shipments to your beneficiary's embassy.

4) To find out if the embassy processed the packet, call the Dept of State before 5pm: 202-663-1225 press 1 then 0

-- Once you know the embassy has processed the file, get the signed DS-230 to them --

5) You can also call the DoS to find out your interview date once you believe the embassy has scheduled it.

I did the above to track the shipment. I found a shipment going to London on the same date as our case went. It was delivered at 1.45 this afternoon however it said it was delivered to Lambeth?

I know that the US embassy isn't in Lambeth. Anyone who has used this method before know if Lambeth is the correct final destination for the package?

Just got off the phone with USCIS about an address change and they asked me if I have been receiving mail from them. I said I received the first notice from them in April. Then the woman said "Did you receive the Notice of Approval sent this month?" After I wiped myself off the floor, I asked what was the NOA2 date and she said July 16. So the touch I got was for the approval. To top it all off I called my girls and they said could not talk now, her first husband and father of her daughter committed suicide today and she was meeting with the family at the moment. Did I ever mention my preference for Chinese Sweet and Sour? However, I do not like it in this circumstance.

usagroom (endoftheroad), I'm so, so sorry to hear about your fiance's ex. (F)

Congratulations on the NOA2, though!

Someone posted this in the sub-Saharan forum, and I thought I'd share l nonimigrant visas issued by country

It has all the types of visa that have been issued by country for this past year. Only 44 K visas (that's k-3 and k-1) issued from Senegal--which is why I have to go to the interview.

K1's don't get added to the NVC automated system, so always talk to their live reps. They are so nice and helpful :D

Thanks for reinforcing that. I called this afternoon, hit "5" and they received our petition. They hadn't processed Ian's address change that I sent USCIS in May, so I updated it over the phone. I asked if it'd been sent to London yet, and she said, "No, we've just had it for a few days".

I just called because I was so distracted by the fact that it'd actually reached the NVC, that I forgot to ask for our NVC number. I asked if it had been shipped today, because I saw 6 packets go to London tonight, but she says it's undergoing "additional processing" and so it is still there. Frustrating, but I hear all packets undergo AP of varying lengths.

Yes, Monday, for sure!
