Congrats to everyone who got their noa2!!!

VSC sucksssssssssssssss :crying: Please keep VSC folks in your prayers :crying:

Congratz Alan and phgirllovesjoe!

Atayagirl - Is he going to have easy access to his old mailing adress? If he is I'd say stick with that one.

Congrats to all the approvals! To everyone still waiting-it's coming soon!!!

Jauque-I could continue to use that address, but when he filed for his police certificate, he needed to fill out a residency card, and he used the address where he's been staying the past few months (it's actually his house, but he's been working in the capital and letting family stay there), so I don't want the interview to come around and them to ask him why he didn't list that as his address  Dakar is just a really tough embassy and I don't want to screw it up. We'll see.

Sometime between now and 3pm NVC received my case. He asked me to repeat my case number and I was like blah still not there yet and then he asked for my confirmatory information. WooHoo!

Cool... I might call again and check mine. I wonder if the automated line says yours has been received. Do they mind you just calling to check? I mean, what did you say and what did he say?

They didnt mind me calling at all. Every time I called I got someone different anyway. I just always made sure I had a couple of questions for them just in case it sounded like I was being a nuisance!

I just asked for my case number and he gave it to me. I also asked if they had any idea when I would be receiving the packet 3 but obv he wasn't to know.

congrats to all the approvals!!!!

Also-going to take us back to wedding talk for a brief moment :D

Since I'm going back to Senegal for the interview, I'm thinking of buying fabric here (or there, I guess) and taking it to a tailor with a design and having my wedding dress made for me there. The tailors there are AMAZING! I also ran the idea by Lamine, and he was so excited about it. We'll see. I'm not sure if I'm gutsy enough for that, but it would good for my pocket book and it would also be really personal. We'll see....

How is everyone doing?

Oh! more exciting-ish things :)

To keep the anxiety/depression away, I've started buying Lamine things to make him feel at home here. Today I bought us new tooth brushes, I bought him a new razor, long underwear for the cold winters :P, and a warm hat. Having some this stuff around helps me realize that he really will be here soon.

Good idea on the winter wear! My sister's husband is from the Gambia and is the biggest baby during the Winter! He puts 3-4 duraflame logs on the fire, wraps up in a comforter and sits in front of the fire!

Cute!!! Lamine will be the same way. He told my sister the story of the coldest day in anyone's memory in Senegal--it was brutal, as the story goes. No one went outside. People got sick. Sheep were dying. The temperature was...63 degrees :P When I told him there were snow flurries here in late April, he said, "I really am going to die there." I'm so excited to be there with him when he wakes up to the first morning of snow-covered ground. I'm going to put him in long underwear and underarmour and eighteen other layers, and we're going to build a snow man and make snow angels.

awwww.... attaya... that's so sweet/cute/nice.. lol I think that's a good idea for the dress, and wonderful things you are doing to get ready to make Lamine feel at home. I'm really going to miss the snow when I move, but apparently if we drive for a hour or two we can get to some snow, so that's better than nothing I guess.. but it just won't be the same! I love snow angels!

Cool... I might call again and check mine. I wonder if the automated line says yours has been received. Do they mind you just calling to check? I mean, what did you say and what did he say?

This whole process is making me a bit loonie so I can answer this question. I phoned around midnight NH time and tried to use the automated system to see if it had made it out of the NVC (because it had been almost 9 hours which is plenty of time!) but when I entered the first three letters of my NVC case number it gave me the same message as before that those letters could not be found or whatever.

I asked him on the phone if I could check with the automated system and he said he didn't know but that I could always talk to a live rep. and they would be happy to tell me anything I wanted to know. I'm sure they don't mind and even if they do a couple days from now they'll never have to hear from us again, so no harm done I figure.

Gratz to new approvals!! May your case make it to the NVC with lightening speed!! :star:

K1's don't get added to the NVC automated system, so always talk to their live reps. They are so nice and helpful :D
