Hmmmm. We may have already talked about this, but have you all prepared the documents for Packet 3 yet? If so, what have you done? I've got the I-134 done, and am just starting on some of the other paperwork.

Stuff for packet 3:

1. I-134, Affidavit of Support

Download from here:

http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-134.pdf

2. Your three most recent years' tax returns and W-2s. If you did not file the tax please write an statement explaining why, sign your name and date.

3. Statement from an officer of the bank or other financial institutions where you have deposits, identifying the following details regarding your account:

a. Date account opened;

b. Total amount deposited for the past year;

c. Present balance.

4. Letter/Statement from Employer

a. Date of employment

b. Title

c. Current position

d. Current salary

e. Whether the position is permanent If self-employed:

a. Copy of last income tax return filed; or

b. Report of commercial rating concern.

List containing serial numbers and denominations of bonds and name of record owner(s).

5. Provide as much evidence of correspondence that you can that demonstrates the development of your relationship, from initial stages until the current date. Examples include letters, e-mails, and chat sessions.

6. Records of telephone contact made by petitioner verifying the caller's name, address, telephone number, as well as the length of each call and the receiver's phone number. If providing evidence of contact, do not submit calling cards as proof. Calling cards companies often provide itemized lists of all calls made using those cards. If a company does not offer tha service, provide a letter from the company verifying they do not offer this information.

7. A detailed statement, written by the petitioner, describing the evolution of your relationship. Be sure to, at the very least, explain how you met, when you started dating, and how, when and why you became engaged. Do not include any third people such as interpreter and visa agent in that letter. Please email it to me for my review. Please sign your name and date after your print it out.

8. A notarized copy of your passport pages clearly showing Chinese visa and entry/exit stamps. Copy the entire passport, even if some pages are blank. Properly notarized each page as seen and compared to original copy by notary. All entry and exit dates must be legible. If you will accompany her to the Consulate then you do not have to notarize your passport but give her the original one, she will present to the interviewer.

9. Your plane tickets and evidence that purchased your plane tickets you used to visit. Provide (1) credit card statement that verifies the purchase (2) a cancelled check or (3) the bank statement that shows you withdrew cash from your account for the purchase (also provide bank statement for the months before and after purchase).

10. Include copies of termination of all your previous marriages (if applicable) -- divorce and/or death certificates. Recently the Consulate had requested American petitioner ex spouse's Social Security Number and her current living address if you know. Please print the information on a piece of paper.

11. Proof of your residency in the US. Such as lease/deed/mortgage statements, utility bills, copy of driver's license.

You do not even want to know the "history" of wedding rings if you think veils are bad. :D Think about what these things mean in modern times, not what they meant thousands of years ago. Seriously, like I said, choose what YOU feel comfortable in and enjoy your special day!

There was plenty of bad stuff happening 1,000 yrs. ago. My ex-wife studied Women's Studies, and she was overjoyed to share these fine points with me on a nightly basis when she was planning her, "Conscious" wedding with me nearly 9 years ago.

First, I was told why a bride wears white. Then, why there are "Maidens of Honor" and from there to "Best Men", etc. I politely asked for the conversation to stop, but she just went on and on about how, "Horrible" the history of weddings were. :wacko: So, who oversaw everything? Her aunts - one a Cult member from Northern CA, the other a bitter, Divorce Lawyer - also from Northern CA. :blink:

So, I've heard plenty, USA Groom about how, "Horrible" these ceremonies have been, from a Feminists' perspective. My question to you and to her (almost 9 yrs ago was) -- What does any of this have to do with me?

Now, in regards to what you posted for Packet 3... I know most of you are the USCs here... but I am not.. I am the beneficiary, I'm trying not to get that confused with the stuff that I have to get since some of that list doesn't apply to me. lol I will forward that on to my fiance though :)

As far as what I am required to dig up, I have been working on getting my vaccines updated (need to get bloodwork done to find it out if i actually need the last one), and I'm getting my cat's vaccines updated too (small detail, but easily forgotten!), have obtained my police certificate, and of course we're keeping records of all our travels still and phone records/emails etc. Sigh.. it's good times

I can't wait... 3 weeks and 3 days until I get to visit! ah!!

And, it doesn't take being a feminist to make someone decide not to do one tradition of the wedding! :)

attaya... I'm glad to hear that Lamine's mom is improving. I hope she continues to do so! (F)

Yes, well I spend a bit on the phone bill too...i sent texts to England you see.....but whatever...FINALLY Nigel was reading some of the London consulate reviews on their interview processes so he has the idea what he's in for....so he was looking around this site, he's not quite as proficient as I am on here but he looked at a few timelines and so forth, so I think he's slowly getting the whole idea...lol. Well tomorrow is the big day for the USCIS site update, see how they're going....i'm playin hooky from work so I am home on the webcam with Nigel here and there throughout the day...(love that) and have tomorrow off, so maybe we'll have the cam on for 2 days...oh ####### thats awesome...lol, did we ever think in a million years that we'd be doing this? Noooooooo...right now the cam and the phone is my best friend....just to keep in touch with family and fiances!!!
