I plan on introducing Leidys to my friends The Baja Crawlers 4WD Club of Tijuana, Mexico and taking her camping in Joshua Tree National Park. Both the International Border and Joshua Tree are exactly 2 hrs. away from where I live.
Can my girl and I join you folks sometime? Looks like great fun!!!

I'm not really getting my hopes too high, but that would be amazing!

So--I looked at my case status again-just because it's so nice to see the update :D and the last updated date had changed from 6/30/09 to 05/04/09  I never originally had a touch then. I logged out and checked back 15 minutes later (because I'm an obsessed freak when it comes to visa stuff), and it had changed back to 6/30/09. Don't know what's going on....

She has now spent two days in the hospital this week. She is 70 so this is serious. Best wishes for her. Love mama. Thanks.

Hurray!! I'm going to OBVIOUSLY assume that means the NOA2 is on its way ;)

LOL

And Allie.... I am going to go absolutely broke and don't know how I'm going to make my rent and car payment next month (omg it's next month!!!) since I'm taking a leave of absence... but I can't imagine having to wait until January (give or take) to be able to see my fiance again. :( I couldn't do it... Seriously hang in there, to all of us who are waiting so long to see each other. It's SO worth it, and this will just be a short blip on the lifetime you will spend together :)

Ya well, I took a leave of absence in December when I came to England but I had vacation pay and sick pay, etc..now its gone except for like a day or 2 left which i am saving for the quickie wedding in Vegas! But part of me wants to just take another LOA unpaid and just fly off to England for a month and f&^%k it all. Lol. Nigel would never allow it however!!! So we have to just Skype ourselves silly and so forth. You guys are gonna laugh your head off when you hear this: I sent him my other pillowcase that was on my bed today! Lol, whether he uses it is another story but he brought over a bedspread that he had for a long time and so thats on my bed right now so I thought I'd send him the pillowcase! Ok crazy whatever. He should get it maybe Wednesday or so next week, perfect cause he comes home Monday. I'm gonna be curious if he thinks i sent him something totally stupid!!! But whatever, i thought being we're always on cam, it would be cute to have matching pillows to sleep on! Oh plus, i thought now's the time to start sending snail mail so that when the big papers are due and more interviews or whatever, we will have a huge stack of them to show....so i thought i will bring it up to maybe start sending mail once a week. Dont know about you, but i like getting stuff in the mail!!!

Allison.

My fiance and I send each other things in the mail quite frequently... not as much as we used to, but still once a month at least. It IS really fun actually, except my packages are usually prettier than his, but I think that's a girl thing :P LOL

Speaking of pillowcases, don't feel bad! There are websites that sell matching pillow cases for couples! There was actually one that seemed geared towards long distance couples... they were SO CUTE.. I can't find it now though... argh. But I promise to post it if/when I do!! :)

Happy Canada Day!

You know whats funny? Wes went to chinese a few days before our NOA2 came in the mail and his fortune read "A letter of great importance may reach you any day now". He sent a picture of it to me from his iPhone. Hopefully your fortune comes just as true as ours did!

And Allie, I completely agree, I love getting letters in the mail. Wes just sent me a bunch of books his sister had bought me to keep me occupied during the wait, so I have a couple box tops now from things he has sent me for evidence. Nothing is as fun as unwrapping something, even if you know what is in it

I think i know of the site with the pillowcases but i'd rather just have matching from whats on my bed at the moment! Haha, a guy with blue flower pillowcase on his bed, we'll see if he does it! Lol. My mom used to send me stuff from Canada, hawkins cheezies, tim hortons coffee, etc...what i would give for THAT again, dont think i'm gonna make it back home to Alberta this year however. Having Nigel here is way more important, my family is gonna come down here when the time comes for the wedding.

the pillowcases are so sweet and loving. I received only one card in the mail last month, from my girl, for father's day. It arived two days before the holiday. I can't tell you how much it meant to me and my sons. Mail to and from China takes 3-4 weeks for delivery.

Oh my girls, our hearts wait to be refilled with you.

Mama in China is very sick with high blood pressure. Give her your best thoughts. A very famous and strong old woman who has helped us so much.

I'm so sorry to hear this. My Father was sick in his last days, asking me to send in my I129F papers but he was gone less than 1 week later (in early April). So, I know the pain you (and especially your fiancée) are going through. Stand by your fiancée and I hope you can see your family in China very soon. My Mother will be traveling with me to Barranquilla in 2 more weeks. Leidys' Grandmother is also sick with High Blood Pressure, and wants to meet her soon-to-be in-laws. These visits take on an entirely different significance more than most people can understand. Take care,

Ken
