I'm having a bad 'waiting' week.... maybe it's because it's the 'emotional' time of the month.. I dunno. LOL (tmi, I know)... but I'm really missing him lately... I also think it's because there's some cool events happening in Santa Barbara (where he is), and London, Ontario (where I am), this coming weekend, so we'll both be off doing 'fun' things, but without each other. :( I hate that. I want to share these things with him, and NOT just through videos and talking about them... I want to EXPERIENCE them together!! @$*%)!&$*)! This is one of the hardest parts about this.... :(

I know how you feel. It's good when people can keep busy, but at the same time, it's so blatantly obvious that you're apart at those points. I feel it today, too, but then, I think I just woke up pissed off at the world. :)

On the good side, it won't be long now. And it's Friday. One week closer to the end of the wait.

Have a good weekend! :star:

I know how you feel ashen. Last week was my birthday. On July 31 is her birthday. And we have to be apart on those special moments. I know that, God willing, next year is going to be different but that doesn't mean that it will hurt less right now. The waiting is hard. I just hope it ends soon and for all of you too.

PEACE.............

When you love someone from the bottom of your heart; so much that you are willing to give your life for your loved one, time and distance takes a backseat. Only love prevails. And with love in you hearts you can overcome anything.

Ashenflowers, I'm so, so sorry that this is such a tough week. I know what you're saying, and it's awful. Sometimes knowing that this will all be over soon-ish helps, but sometimes nothing really helps. Sorry....

I CANNOT wait for next year! I know that I should be living in the moment blah blah blah, but dear god...I've already spent Christmas, New Years, Valentines day, and both of our birthdays apart. I'm sick of it. I know that there are people on VJ who have been apart from their loved ones for so much longer, but it doesn't make it any easier. It sucks to be apart.

Hi everyone!

Well Nan and I have accepted the fact that we will be waiting a bit longer than we wanted to, but oh well. I am going to see her again in August, and as soon as I get back around Feb/March I will be seeing her again. I am going to file again while I am in deployed, and we should be moving through NVC again around the time I get back...

Now that I have accpeted all this, our relathionship is a lot less strained. We share a lot more laughs together than we had in the last month. Nan told me I was much more fun before we started the visa process, and now that we have to wait again, and I don't talk exclusively about passports and visas, I am fun again... Now that I look back, I was a maniac of sorts. I don't even think I asked her how she was doing during previous conversations... Sometimes we loose sight of what really matters.

I think if we can last this long, we will be able to do alright... If Nan comes over when I predict, we will have been together for almost three years, hard to imagine.

Hope everyone else is doing well!

Not a cool waiting game pic, but this is what I did yesterday to keep my mind off of another prossible year with no Nan in my life. This wasn't near as nice a catch as Nan is, but it will have to do...

I feel exactly the same way. Leidys and I keep skipping fun things to do alone, because we would prefer to do them together. Plus, going alone just isn't much fun. For instance, next weekend, I want to see the Electric Daisy Carnival, but going alone is the pits. I still might go, because it is painful having to always do things alone - if I get out to do them at all. My friends have outgrown this sort of thing, but I still love the music, and listen to it everyday. Leidys would go with me, so I still have the option of waiting until next year. We would just avoid the scarry rides!

Nice catch Neil!

Thanks brother.

I just realized I am playing a different waiting game then all of you guys. I was talking to my dad yesterday about Nan and life, and he told me "You can buy a lot of things Neil, but You can not buy more time. Be patient and things will come"

I think a lot people in these "waiting game" circumstances will agree that the love we forge with our SO's may be stronger than those who do not have to deal with this stuff.

We all have chosen the difficult road to marriage.

As for the different "game" I thought you were going to ask for a delay until you come back? That would keep you at the same place in the process at least.

Today, Ian went to the Waterside Festival, where he was performing poetry, and also listening to his friend's band play. I happened to call him mid-band performance and he couldn't hear a word I was saying, but left the phone on so I could hear the band. I set my phone to speaker. It was so cool! I felt like I was there. :)

I'm glad for Skype and the almost-free sort of way we have it working for us.

For me the hardest part now is that the weather is so nice now. There are sooooooooooooooooooo many things I can think of that my SO and I could be doing together...it seems like wasted time. Anybody else feel the same way? I also think that if her visa is approved in November or December....which is when I realistically expect it...she will be arriving in the winter here. Quite a shock to her I am sure, and personally I HATE winter.
