USA Groom, I have an extensive CD and record collection, and 80% of it is gloom & doom - the other 20% of it is Drum & Bass, Trance, or Industrial. This music isn't really understood very well in South America
Aha! we have hit common ground! Joy Division/NO WAVErs are superb. Thanks for the link. Have you seen the JD movie? So sad about Ian and so many of my musician/poet friends met the same conclusion. So sad.

This begs the question, if life imitates art?

Even though it was some stupid ###### as ashen flowers said, I still think it was a welcome break (at least for me) from life. But it ended well... This beer is to Ken and usagroom.

Agreed. I apologize. My plans are to return to Barranquilla next month, and check my status on-line while I'm there.

Question: Do on-line notices arrive before written NOA2s? Leidys is going to prepare by getting her Passport in advance so that we can Fax the biological info to the Consulate when the NOA2 arrives. We have some additional papers to file with Packet 3 that we will begin signing as well.

 Mid July through Mid August looks to be the time for NOA2s for a majority of this thread, though.

not always Ken. In my case, my status didn't appear online until Monday, got touched tuesday and still says pending but we got the NOA2 on Thursday, so you might not actually get an update to tell you that you are approved. If it does show up online though yes, it will show up about 3 days before your paper copy.

Hey Ken,

From what I have read here on VJ is usually if you do actually see the update on the website it does show up the day of the NOA2 approval ... so basically yes to your question ... but the problem is it seems the majority of the people get no updates on the website.

BTW ... hope you all have a great weekend ... we are all getting closer and closer ... mid July really looks feasible to see our first April approval :)

I've read that sometimes the website or the email notifications arrive after the physical NOA2, but sometimes they don't. Some people get their email and then the NOA2 physically arrives within a few days.

Have you seen this for packet 4? http://bogota.usembassy.gov/root/pdfs/wwwf...ntment_temp.pdf

It's always interesting to me to see the actual letters that arrive.

Our kids will grow up speaking....four languages  Lamine grew up speaking six languages. They'll speak English, French, Wolof, and Manding. We plan on raising our children in Senegal for at least a few years of their lives, and we want them to be able to communicate with his side of the family (obviously), so that requires the Wolof and Manding. I'm not fluent in those two, but I'm learning...
Got me thinking and reading...

oh my goodness.....this thread exploded in the last 24 hours....I haven't gone and read over everything, but it sounds...interesting. usagroom--thanks for the picture! It made me smile.

Lamine and I tried to do the skype video thing today (would've been the first time in almost 6 months since I've seen him), but the girl running the cyber cafe today had no idea how to pull up skype and my fiance is not at all familiar w/computers, so....He's going back on Monday and here's hoping it works. Ok. Off to my weekend job now--trying to keep busy. Hope everyone is doing well!
