One more thing, I changed my address with USCIS again today. I know that I probably just moved to the back of the line (AGAIN) but I have had two address changes since I filed. I had just gotten back from taking care of my mother when I filed, I was living in a hotel. Then I moved from the hotel (TOO EXPENSIVE). Finally I moved into a final house now. My advisor says this will not be a problem as long as I explain it in a letter.

Anyway................................

I think you should be fine, if anything, it makes someone touch your case and maybe it will sit on top of the pile...

1. My SO and I will have not been together for 15 months next month.
You're concerned about flying twice in 6 months?? I haven't seen Leidys in 4 months, and I'm bummed out. 15 months would feel like an eternity. Have fun in China, and don't worry about the $$.

I see my girl twice a day and we talk for hours. We are not kids, we are older and can wait for things. Money does not grow on trees and it costs me about $3000-$5000 per trip. Did I mention she lives 7000 miles away in a communist country? While other maybe can jaunt to their girls, going to China is an expensive ordeal. 15 months does feel like an eternity but if our family can save $5000 by waiting 3 more months then you understand the dilemma.

Example:

Chicago to Bogota, Columbia= $385

Chicago to Guangzhou, China= $1969

(Expedia using the same dates with one stop)

$3K-$5K per trip? On HotWire.Com, I just found a fare for $922 r/t - you are overspending on your plane tickets, unless if you are going First class or something. I hear China is a very inexpensive place to visit. $5K?? What are you doing while you are there??

21st day in the month and only 25 submitted so far this month.

I realize folks can enter them later but given we are two thirds of the way through the month... kind of interesting.

Maybe it is a slower month and will help later.

I wonder how many items were processed by CSC? Hopefully, next month the CSC will begin processing our April NOA2s.

This is another Igors list. If you click the stats, it shows you how many have been done on a weekly basis. CSC had one week where nothing went through. So far still no march people either :( It sucks. This should help you track it though, I look at the stats a lot to see how many they have been processing.

You must be looking at something else because I just went to Hotwire.com and cheapest was $2010 for one stop RT flight, $1587 for 2 stops. I have no idea what you see but I leave mid-July and come back mid-August. Unfortunately that is not a cheap time to fly to China. Columbia however is always cheap to fly in money and time comparatively. If my SO was in Columbia then I would be there every month.

What I do in China is stay at a hotel, go out to eat, go sightseeing, go shopping, etc. Since you have apparently never been to China I'll let you know that $3-5K is not a lot to spend for a trip.

BTW, last time my plane ticket was $850. This time I think I can get it for around $1K I hope.

I got on the ball and was looking at the London England's consulate reviews on VJ and read up on where people stay overnight to be able to be up early for their interviews and where to drop off their cell phones cause they don't let anyone bring electronic devices in there, and I'd be damned if Nigel's not bringing his cell phone to give me updates....! Anyway, people really went into great detail on what happens at those interviews and where to line up and what they brought and didn't have to...really good reading on that subject on here, I printed stuff off for Nigel and have that ready for him ...damn I feel like half travel agent half fiance...etc...etc...lol...!! Have to be prepared! It almost looked like when I went for my interview in Calgary, Canada for my US-immigration 15+ years ago...very same drill....nerves included!

Yeah Allie, the London interview is very easy peasy.

He can leave his phone and stuff around the corner at Gould Pharmacy (they show this on the map when he gets the last packet), and the interview is over within a couple of minutes (once you get through the hours of waiting there).

Good luck :)

If you are departing on a weekend and returning on a Sunday, your airfare is typically higher. Demand drives prices, and not many travelers are vacationing in ColOmbia. Reservations for hotels are not necessary unless you are traveling during NYE or February (during Carnivales).

Oh, and you keep spelling the name of the country incorrectly.

Hope all is well with everyone this morning! We're getting married in Vegas so last night I was looking at wedding chapels....so that was fun...lol...just trying to figure out a budget for that....hopefully late November early December weddings for us...cheap rooms round that time!

I bet it would be quite expensive if you had to stay in a hotel. We spent around $2,500 for 3 flights, fortunately. Both of us are currently out of vacation time, and think our cash should be saved for living on and a very small wedding when Ian comes over. No travelling till the visa is done. Bleh. As Ian always says, "It'll be fine!" :D
