It's okay, despite what others have posted in this thread, to check your mail/email/website every day and report it back here. It is part of your life and we share this journey together. We are moving on with our lives and this is a major part of it right now. Some may want to ignore it and think they can't live with paying close attention to it, but I pay close attention because it is soooooo important. I like sharing the day to day stuff with our group in this thread. This website is called VISA JOURNEY for the express purpose of recognizing we are on a path together. So if some want to advocate that this sharing is a waste of time or even detrimental, remind them that is why we are here -- to share this experience.

Nothing in the email or mail or website today for me but I know it is coming soon. How about you?

How do I keep my mind off it? By going on with my life. By planning what I'm going to do in the mean time, and what I'm going to do after I move. By realizing that I have NO CONTROL over how long of a wait I am going to have, and am at the mercy of a series of complete strangers who couldn't care less about me as an individual. I DON'T check my status every day, I DON'T come on VJ every day and remind myself of how horrible this situation is. I go on with my life, I hang out with my friends around me, I go to work, I talk daily with my fiance, I plan my wedding. There are enough things in my personal life that I need to do and take care of without constantly worrying and stressing daily over something that I CAN'T do...

part of the reason so many of us check everyday is because for many, the day we get the visa, is the day we can plan to see our fiances again. if, like me, your fiance can't get a visitor visa because of where they're from, you might be more inclined to check more frequently. every case and every person is different and we can't critisize each other's way of coping with this.

Yes, I can agree with USAGROOM on posting here, checking email, uscis, etc...venting online here, expressing ourselves on here...cause really, how many people do you know personally who is going through this?? We all love our fiance's and cant wait to be with them and to live a normal life again...and this is the perfect place to vent and express our delights or our sadness or frustration....cause my outside life really doesnt understand or they get tired of hearing about it...lol....So i'm gonna keep on posting on here and I will gladly read your posts too....

I'm with you... Can't see my SO till the visa's gone through. With the expense of moving, AOS and a wedding, it seems like too much to pay for another flight ticket at this point. My only advantage is that we "could" (go into severe debt and) buy a ticket, if we wanted. I envy those people who at least get something of a break from the waiting. :) Ah well... soon enough!

Who in the heck wants to get their mind off their future spouse and what we are all doing with the Visa process? If that is not "going on" with your life then I can't imagine what is more important.

BTW, my bride cannot come here but I, as USAgroom, can go there. My trip is planned for July/August. We have not kissed in over a year and I told her to make sure we have a week behind closed doors when I arrive. ;)

I'll post here from the Middle Kingdom.

Just wanted to say I talk with my fiancee about twice a day for hours and we are so happy. I know that if their visa does not come through then I will go there to live. So we are not worried, we just miss being in each other's arms.

Well yes, we have to wait till the visa is approved for us to see each other...I have money that I am saving for the wedding and to buy Nigel a junky old truck to go to work and such, I can use that on a plane ticket however, #1 i'm saving the time off for the wedding #2 Nigel needs wheels when he's here unlike England which has a way better transit system than Arizona! I figure we have to keep our hormones in check in order to do this the RIGHT WAY ..I keep on telling him that and he knows...he misses me...I miss him too....

THANK GOD FOR SKYPE just to see him...I phone him for 7c/minute or 25c if I call his mobile if I use Qwest and T-Mobile gives me 7c per text too...I spend a bit on those things for instant contact....i admit it...but whatever....

Well I do feel lucky that I don't have to wait until whoeverknowswhen I get the visa before I am able to see my fiance again... however... we still go months between visits, and it's a HUGE expense to see each other. Despite being in neighbouring countries, we are still 2500 miles (roughly 4000 kms) apart. It's very difficult and requires a lot of sacrifice for us to see each other. We don't have a lot of money, and have jobs and other responsibilities that we also need to attend to for the time being... so it's not like we can just hop skip and jump on down the road when ever we feel like it, despite how it may appear in my timeline. I don't ever take these visits for granted, or forget how lucky I am to be able to see him at all... but please don't hold it against me.

Nill asked specifically "What do you guys do to keep your minds off of all this stuff?"... so I was just answering the question. I was not pointing fingers at anyone or criticizing specifics.. I was just explaining what I need to do. Of course my mind is NEVER off my fiance... EVER. And NOTHING in my life is more important to me than him. Will I check my status daily closer to when I expect to get my NOA2 (i.e. 2+ months from now)... of course.. but right now... NOTHING is going to be done... so it's just going to be more and more heartbreaking for me to see NO progress. I actually feel a twinge of pain every time I even DO try to check it... I know myself... and I know that if I dwell on the time apart, and the lack of progress, and so many other people in pain.. it will just lead to a very dark place for me. So please don't criticize ME for feeling that I don't wish to dwell on the negative aspects of this process. It's hard enough already. For ALL of us who are going through this.

Voipdiscount.com is pretty neat for me, I dunno if they would work for you. In thailand almost all cell carriers have free incoming calls from any origin, so Nan will ring me, and then I will hit here back up via my cell through voipdiscount, and it logs all your calls for you as well... you can go back through and see your activity for the last months...

As usagroom says "Playing the waiting game..." NVC what are you doing with my case?

Hope all is well with the group!

I started going back to the gym, and I am training for some fights when I go see Nan in thailand in Aug/Sept (not w/Nan, but Muay Thai) So I am consuming my time now to keep me from worrying about this process. I still have trouble sleeping, but at least I can shut my eyes for more than 45 minutes now! Haha!
