Timeline

today is a tough day. ugh. i want to believe that noa1's are coming this month. i know it's going to be around august, but....ok, so, i'm running this timeline in my head and need someone to tell me if i'm being unrealistic.

*if* we get our noa2's in august or early september, and we have all our package 3 stuff ready, do you think it would be possible to have interviews scheduled w/in a few weeks of the consulates receiving the information? senegal only has a week waiting time for non immigrant visas like the k-1, so i'm thinking that we could have an interview by late september or early october?

i'm planning on being there for the interview, so unless they decide to make it possible for him to get a tourist visa, that's be the soonest i'll be able to see him again. someone kick me if you think this is being unrealistic. it's already been five months since i've seen him, and the thought of november being the interview date just makes me ill....

sorry for the rambling! needed to get those thoughts out of my head.

I am with you. I am shooting for about the same timeline but really hoping for a miracle. I too am planning on being their for his interview, but am not sure if I can wait it out. For me it has been 100 days since I have seen him and it is painful to think that I may not even be halfway there. I have good days and bad. I check flight prices almost every day as well as this site and CRIS. Hang in there. We will make it through.

Maybe a month is the fastest after looking at the various timelines, but maybe twice as long. Check with folks on the regional board:

I think I am going mad. This whole process is really reeking havoc on me. I am having a hard time swallowing the fact that in a couple months some random CO is going to decide the fate of our futures together. After only 20 minutes at the most, someone will decide whether or not we are going to be excited or devastated. I haven't slept in two days, and my diet has gone down the tubes. I need this to be over soon, and we are still two months away from the interview:wacko:

What do you guys do to keep your minds off of all this stuff?

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

This whole process is kind of like falling in love. You check your phone/e-mail every few minutes to see if they(your new love) have called or written. You count the minutes between right now and when you hope they'll take you out again. You go to bed angry when they didn't call and swear your done with them forever, when they text you at lunch the next day you jump for joy and completely forget your promise to never love again. Your so excited/nerovous you forget to eat, its all you can think about and gets to be so much that you think you're really actually going crazy... until one day you wake up and their not the first thing to pop into your head, not because you care about them any less but because its so exhausting to live that close to the edge and in all things there must be balance.

Now replace love with the k-1 visa process and I think you'll see the resemblance. You'll come down from this, in a few days or weeks it will seem like any other day and then you'll find out when your interview is and it will start all over again. The great thing is the sun doesn't really care that you don't know how you're going to make it through these next few months, its going to rise and set anyways. Put down your calendar and appreciate every second you have left with your friends and family before you have to say good bye to them for who knows how long. Don't wish away a single second of your time, it will be gone before you know it and theres no way to get it back.

Haha Yeah I know usagroom. I don't envy your wait, but I wish I had more time, I feel like we are being rushed into the interview process and Nan is just as worried as me, she is set to do her medical in the next week or so, and the interview will be here before we know it :o . When I was preparing for the long haul with you guys, I felt a bit more relaxed, now I am just a worry wart... I know I should count my blessings not my burdens. Nan tells me not to worry so much, but how can't I?

I do think the rest of the April group will see some NOA 2's in July/Aug, and depending on your embassy, some of you may get interviews quickly. Maybe some of you will beat me to the states with my bride...

don't think that way! you'll be with her soon enough. i know it's awful. i don't know if there's anything you can do to get through it--you just do. lately, i feel like i'm on the verge of tears every hour of every day, but the days do slowly tick by. as far as being worried for the interview--don't. you're interview is in a couple months you said, right? you have plenty of time to prepare! i'm sure everything will go smoothly and you'll have the visa in hand in no time!
