wow. Sorry I've been absent for a while, but I think I'm all caught up now. James, good luck on the interview!

Chaz-congrats on finally getting P3 sent off! That's wonderful news!

Lisa-how is it having Ian with you now? :)

Allie-hope you get some news soon.

st.louis-how is married life?

Rhiann-good luck!

Ashen and starlight-your interviews are sooooo soon! Thinking about you guys.

EOTR-any news?

We're celebrating the religious Muslim ceremony this weekend, and I'm so excited! It's going to be very different than Muslim celebrations in Senegal, so I'm not entirely sure what to expect, but I'm excited :)

Hope you're all doing well. Sorry if I missed anyone!

Allie, congrats!!!!!

Ashen-I'm counting down the days with you :) You'll do wonderfully!

Also, an update about the Social Security Card Office. We got there early this morning, and it was PACKED. I went to get our number, and when I turned around I saw that Lamine had chosen the only two seats available and that he was seated right next to a guy with a huge Confederate Flag on his shirt. I couldn't tell if the guy uncomfortable with Lamine because of his race or because he was wearing a Confederate flag and was sitting next to someone who would probably take offense, but he was definitely uncomfortable. Had a hard time explaining the significance of the flag to Lamine. Not hard in that he wouldn't understand, just difficult to explain that, unfortunately, there are still people who are uncomfortable with people of different races or backgrounds. Ugh. Also, I know that many people claim the Confederate flag as a historic symbol, etc, etc, but people don't wear that kind of thing where I live. Years ago, there was a group of neo-Nazis who lived a few hours away and caused a lot of fear and trouble. They've since left the area, but there is still a lot of sensitivity regarding things like the Confederate flag. People tend to be very cautious if they do or don't want to be perceived as being connected with that type of thing. I'm also admittedly very protective over Lamine, so I'm probably more sensitive to that type of thing than some people. Anyways.

In other news-Lamine saw snow for the first time! We had to pull over the car, and we threw a few snowballs :)

Holy smokes! I knew that Lamine would stick out in some parts of Idaho but that situation must have had alarm bells ringing in your head!! Happy that nothing bad happened. I can just imagine Lamine sitting down and turning with his big smile and saying HELLO. The guy must have been ready to explode! :D

Oh my god, yes. I was so on edge. There are a lot of ignorant people here, and I want to give him the benefit of the doubt-to believe that he just saw it at a Goodwill and thought nothing of the history behind this symbol or what it might mean to some people, but I can't believe that people are really that blind-that they can't understand that wearing something like that would be ridiculously offensive to any number of people. Kills me. And, yes, Lamine was incredibly friendly to the guy.

Rhiann-good luck tomorrow!!!!!!

James-Congrats!!!!! :dance::dance::dance:

EOTR - I am glad there is some progress, and things are moving forward.

James - Congrats! U are approved just pending additional docs.

attaya girl - Good to see you back.

Rhiann - Best of luck!!!

Allie - This is great news! I am sure he will get his visa in no time now.

Ashen - Just hang in there, and once you get approved I am sure things will not be as stressful. Moving is not easy it does not matter what country your coming from. I even hate moving from one city to another. So, moving to a foreign country regardless of how close can take its toll on anyone.

Chaz - I am so glad u and Riggs are moving forward with everything.

St. Louis - How are things going? Congrats on the wedding!

Ian & Lisa - Thanks for keeping up the positive energy, and cheering us on.

SomedaySomehow - Have not seen you around? I hope things are going well with you and your SO.

Me too :D

Me three! :D

Everybody, just keep progressing! Big hurdles for us were removed this week (after paying the judge and lawyer more money) so maybe we will have a Jan/Feb interview scheduled soon. The moment this court case is finished I will book my flight to China. I have to be back here for business on Dec. 15. If I have to go back there a month afterwards, who cares? This is just a process. :)

When does your NOA2 expire? Did you get it extended?

Yes, they just emailed me when I requested an extension and said to let them know when we could interview.

Thats great that you did that, and hopefully you can get to schedule an interview in January since there is more progress now.
