So, here is the update on my petition. It was sent out to the consulate on the 9th from NVC. That was really fast additional processing :) . Does NVC assign another case number? Or can you still use USCIS case number to send out packet 3. My fiance is ready to send out Packet 3, but we were going to include a cover letter and wanted to confirm what case number to use. Anyone can shed any light? Thanks again for all your help.

NVC assigns a case number based on your embassy. Just call NVC tomorrow and ask them for it. :)

Thanks I will do that as its actually a job in itself to get a hold of somebody there .

Confirmed with DOS today that they approved our P3 (the Consulate already confirmed this) and that they had on record the 2 emails I had sent this past week. Per the emails I was told, they were waiting for us to tell them we are ready for an interview. It is great that it is official that both of us passed inspection to get to this final K-1 step buuuuuuuuuuuuuutttttttt......... I WANT TO GO TO CHINA NOW AND BE TOGETHER WITH MY GIRLS!!!!!!!

Hi Star.

NVC assignes you with your 'one and only' case number. Unless of course, your case is like mine, this is the only 'number' the Embassy will recognise in corresponding with them. They won't reply to you without it, not even if you use the 'receipt' number on your approval letter. And you can call them if you haven't yet received your letter and they will give you your number then.

Hope you've had a great day! :)

Thank you I will call them and get that today. My fiance is just in a hurry to send it off and he was thinking that the receipt number for USCIS should do, but I was reading the bottom of the checklist they want and the case number starts with BMB and that is definitely not a USCIS case number.

So today is the day in court for my girls, the one that has stalled our interview. Here's hoping that everything finishes so we can get it scheduled! I'll know in the early morning. If so we will notify them tomorrow (USA time) we are ready.

It's 9:40 am tomorrow in China now.

Thanks Allie, star, mav. We will not be notifying the consulate today. The evil ex-family has prevailed in dragging this out even longer (thoughts are they paid the judge more money... yes both sides are paying off the judge, that's the way it goes). My girls love their motherland but they are so pissed at all this rampant corruption. Of course I am just perishing in America. :clock:

More court dates to come.........

Don't mean to sound whiny with my last posts but this is just so frustrating and I am so helpless except to give moral support to my girls.

Nah man, you have every right to whine, cry, or scream...that just sucks. Hang in there bro!

Just back from my interview in London, England today guys... Frustrating to say the least. Im really tired so I will give you a quick summary! Everything went well up until the last minute of my interview. She said everything looks to be in order but then she told me that they are going to need me to get a police certificate with fingerprints from Australia. I went on a working holiday visa to Australia 5 years ago for a total of 361 days.... not one year or more.

It says clearly in the Instructions of Packet 3 - "If the applicant…lived in a different country for more than 12 months"

I didnt live there for more than 12 months so I dont really understand why they would do that? Couldnt they have told me that they were going to require that before now? I could have applied for it months ago and had it for them today. Now it has set our plans way back and its really frustrating. I was going to book my ticket for the 20th of November when I got home today :(

Emily is really upset as she was really looking forward to booking our wedding stuff today or tomorrow...Now it looks like we are going to have to wait at least another month. Apparently its 15 working days for the Police check with Fingerprints in Australia and combine that with postage times from here to there and from there to here it could well be over a month before I even get the certificate back from Australia....Then I have to send it on to the embassy who have to process it and send me my visa...

Really sucks. Just want to get over there and we thought we were so close.
