Endoftheroad: I called USCIS this morning, and followed your steps. Apparently, the customer service was of no help in confirming the address. She said they do not have the information on the screen. I will try again tomorrow, and talk to somebody else. From the last approval it seems as though everybody is getting approved through snail mail.

St. Louis: Congrats on the interview!!! You made it to the last step and I am sure it will be a success.

attaya girl: I hope you have better luck tomorrow at the SS office. In the process you are giving Lamine a tour of different cities. :)

She told me they do not have our status in their system. She can change my address, but that is all. :(

Starlight-good luck on finding the status of your case!

Round two at Social Security Office today. I'm at work early (and I should be working-not posting on VJ ) trying to get some stuff done before taking off. My work has been so endlessly patient with me. I've taken so much time off this month. Today should be fun, though. The city we're driving to is in the mountains and there are tons of beautiful lakes and rivers on the drive over. Lamine's never seen any of that, so it'll be fun to see his reaction.

Good luck to everyone!

Best wishes at the SS office! Lamine is in for a real treat. America is such a strange place compared to other places with our highway systems, electrical grids, telecommunications, all woven around some beautiful landscapes. I know I will have a great time showing my girls NYC, Miami, San Antonio, Chicago, St. Louis, Glacier Natl. and Yellowstone Parks, the Pacific coast, and everything in between. Next summer we plan on camping across the USA.

So, I asked the officer to confirm my status, and they have the same info that processing has resumed. :(

Funny that the other person said they could do nothing yet this person confirmed your status, huh? Not funny is nothing approved yet. Put the number on speed dial and call every day. Soon, soon, soon they will say "your NOA2 letter was mailed yesterday!"

I emailed CSC, and see if that might work. As far as them doing something about my case. I know it may be a bit too early. Just discouraged because even August 09 filers are getting approved. Lets see if that works. :)

Starlight-hope you get some good news soon!

We got the SSN this morning, and we spent all of 10 minutes at the office. The woman was friendly, efficient, and was also appalled that the other office had sent us away with nothing. Lamine and I had a blast on the drive up and played around on the docks at the lake before driving back to work.

Just stopping in to say hi.

I hope everyone's progress is moving along smoothly.

I hope you hear something soon starlight ... with my RFE I had 3 touches from the time the case resume until the the last touch which was the approval. They did not update the status to "approved" on the website ... I actually called them and they told me we were approved and another couple days later the hard copy came in the mail. All in all I believe it was almost 2 weeks from the time the case resumed until I received the hard copy in the mail.

How I found out we were approved though is I called USCIS and spoke with the first tier Customer Rep, this is a waste of time, I politely asked to be escalated to a immigration officer who was able to give me the information. Of you request to be escalated they have to transfer you to a immigration officer. Hope that helps. Good luck !
