Okay so... when my fiance calls the phone # on the NOA2, he can't even connect to the phone #.

It just gives that "beep beep beep" thing when he calls it.

Isn't NVC one of those places where it sends you to a menu then you can choose options?

I wonder if their phone system is down or something.

EDIT: Haha, I'm magic. Just as I post this he gets through.

Well, he forgot to ask about what day it was received.

They sent the package to Montreal today.

Now all I have to find out is if there's some way to know when they send Packet 3 to me, the Montreal website is so not useful.

You can call the Dept of State for that. I just did that yesterday. You might give it a couple of days to arrive in Montreal first. (202)663-1225 press 1, 0

I called DOS today and they (Jessica) said "your file has not arrived in Guangzhou yet." Huh? I said. My girl received her P3 already and we have returned it. Then she said that "sometimes the consulate will premptively send out the P3 before the actual file arrives." WTH???? I would call the consulate themselves but that is a for-pay service! So I don't really know what is happening. *sigh*

I take it Guangzhou doesn't have an email address (?). You might call DOS and speak to someone else tomorrow.

Email has the 7-10 days thing but you are right about talking with someone else. Jessica seemed stunned that after telling me the file has not been received I said we already got the P3 and returned it. Never heard of this "premptive" mailing.

Granted, we are going for an extension of the original interview date so we can take care of business but I want to know the original interview date. Just more craziness.

Ok. I think I'm all caught up.

endoftheroad-it sounds like you are having a heck of a time. I hope that the rest of the process goes smoothly and quickly and that you can put all of this behind you very, very soon.

Congrats again to Allie and Lisa for getting out of AP hell.

Maverick-hope your application gets forwarded to the embassy soon!

ashenflowers-how is everything going with you?

starlight-how is everything going on the RFE front? Hope you're making progress!

I'm sorry if I missed anyone. It's really early here. Lamine and I are so, so, so thrilled to be together again. We're like two giggling little kids just having fun together. He has an awful, awful toothe ache, though, and he's going to the dentist today for emergency "surgery" to get it taken care of. It's going to be really tight money-wise for a while, I think, as he's not insured yet and I don't foresee this being cheap. It's completely worth it, though. I'm just happy to have him with me again. He seems to have forgotten every word of English he knows, but I know that it'll come as soon as the nerves ease a little. For now, though, there's a lot of translating going on between me and whoever he's talking to.

Oh-and while everyone around here is just starting to swap their shorts for jeans, Lamine is sporting two pairs of pants, two shirts, and a fleece everyday. Poor kid :)

Hope everyone is doing well! Sorry I've been MIA, but I think about you all often and have my fingers crossed for all of you!

So much for Lamine to learn now! This is what I was thinking last week when I was with my fiancee "she has SOOOOOO much to learn"....I know it can be overwhelming for them! I am so happy you are finally with your love!

Attaya, what language does he speak? Well I told Nigel's friend at work off today on facebook....he was teasing Nigel cause he's saying he was acting like a coyboy....lol.....well I told him that years ago before Queen Elizabeth, the man who was SUPPOSED to be king of England actually abdicated the throne to marry a American! SO THERE! hahaha...i love that story!
