... Worst case scenario, Lamine and I camp out there when I get to Senegal and don't leave until he gives us the paperwork.

attagirl! A little American IN YOUR FACE DOCTOR treatment! :D

That's right!!! No more of this tip-toeing around the doctor just because he's a doctor!

In the words of a great American...

I SAID MY NAME IS SUE

HOW DO YOU DO

NOW YOU'RE GOING TO DIE!

just booked a hotel room for the night before the interview! It's just down the street for the embassy so we can get there early! I did not want to try to find a taxi at three in the morning in order to get to the embassy on time.... Can't believe I'm actually going to be back in Dakar!

That's so funny, Allie! Lamine kept saying that we could just get a taxi, but he lives two hours from the embassy and during Ramadan, no one is going to be out running a taxi in the middle of the night. So silly. Oh, the guy I reserved the hotel with, took both mine and Lamine's information, and I told him that Lamine was my fiance. Over there, as soon as you tell someone you're engaged, you might as well be married in there eyes. He completely stopped calling me mademoiselle and started calling my Madame with Lamine's last name. So cute! Makes me nervous, though, when people do that and we are very clearly NOT supposed to be married with the K-1. Oh well. Still made me smile :)

Allie, we've got to get you and Lisa out of NVC! I say we stage a take over :P

Lamine finally got an appointment set up with the doctor for September 3-The day that I arrive in Senegal. The appointment is four hours after my arrival, so we're going to have to go directly from the airport to the doctor's office, but I don't mind one bit :) I'll be holding Lamine's hand the whole time :) Woo-hoo! Finally some action from the doctor's office!

He just kept saying, "Of course, not a problem." I don't know what to believe, but Lamine's trying to get back over there today.

This sounds like he is crooked, and it possibly waiting for you and Lamine to front him some money to expedite things. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the route he is trying to take with both of you.

Well I have just decided to quit comparing myself with everyone here in VJ and to just wait this whole thing out. I can make myself go crazy with the comparing and checking timelines and data and just wishing I was one of these people who just flew through this process. I am going to stop the bitching and complaining and to just go get a damn hobby, get out of these 4 walls, do something to pass the time and to just plain and simple wait it out. I know what is excessive and what to expect so obviously i wont wait and be oblivious to this whole thing but its making me crazy this wait and to see everyone have progress and I'm still sitting here. So no more whiny posts from me....plus Nigel told me to quit bitching.....i can see how that would get annoying....i'm annoying myself and getting all stressed out. So enough's enough out of me!

Allie just look at our case and you will feel 100x better .... although I really do hope and pray for you to get out of NVC real soon .. and I am sure it won't be that long ... but trust me it could be much worse ...

We still have not received a NOA2 yet ... the touch last Friday was not a approval notice .. I called USCIS today and esculated my call to a Immigration Officer who basically told me they received the request for evidence from me and I am in "que" to basically to have the rest of the process to be finished for our case.

I honestly don't understand how some cases fly through this ####### in 3 months and others sit here waiting for 5 months ... we are not that far away from the 5 month processing time now .. its completely frustrating as there is on reason at all for this for her and I.

Basically last week they received my RFE information on Tuesday, we got a touch on Thursday and a new case status update saying

Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Current Status: Response to request for evidence received, and case processing has resumed.

On August 20, 2009, we received your response to our request for evidence. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your response unless fingerprint processing or an interview are standard parts of case processing and have not yet been completed, in which case you can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. This case is at our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

Than received another touch on Friday the 21st, and another touch yesterday the 25th. However I think if we had our approval in any of those touches the extremely nice IO would of told me so on the phone today .. she did say it could take up to 60 days to hear again from them .. but told me to call back on September 20th if we have not heard anything by than .. which maybe gives me some hope we are finally getting close, but that hope was there a month ago for the first touch ... I could vent more here but venting isn't going to get me anywhere ... as Jenelyn tells me " Just relax baby, we just wait because we have no choice" .... she is much more patient and understanding than I am ... but that is probably because I am American and we tend to like to get things right now.

Allie - It's coming soon ... you made it through the hardest longest part already. Stay strong !

Attaya - Good luck with your Interview and have soo much fun with Lamine .... I must admit I am a little envious hehe

Endoftheroad - We will pray you get clearance soon so you can make the Thanksgiving timeline you are hoping for !

Ian and Lissa - Hear anything yet from NVC? I really hope so .. you guys have been waiting a long time too ..

Trying to keep busy and get my mind off things but well..not working...lol....another family member of mine is getting married in October here in Arizona to a American...she's gonna try to immigrate him to Canada....good luck with that! You have to be married first for those guys, no fiance visa for the Canadians....they havent even started looking up immigration things...not too smart they are....glad we are and we're half ways there....!!

I think the Canadians might have the answer. We can't assume the visa process for a marriage based visa is anywhere like we suffer under. The procedure here is obviously out of control. K-1 visa fraud where the immigrant is met in his or her country is rare. The proof of a real relationship is easily met.

I will take the Canadian immigration system even though I am ignorant of the detail, over what we have. And, throw in the Canadian health care delivery system, too

For the record, I can't wait to get my beautiful Colombian here, too. My NOA 1 was April 29th, so hopefully the next pass toward our goal of a successful marriage will be granted soon.
